He only ran for the primary nomination, and lost with less than 5% of the vote... I don’t see how anyone would call that being “a contender”.
Well, if your goal is to be as astute as the people who considered Jeb a contender, that’s a pretty low bar. I’m certainly not going to stoop to joining you.

I’m sorry, but money doesn’t always translate into votes, and votes are what make people contenders in an election.
Anyone with a lick of common sense knew Anthony Weiner was not a contender the mayoral race, and anyone with a lick of sense also knew that Jeb was not a contender in this election cycle. Just because there were a lot of people with money that didn’t have a lick of sense didn’t magically make either of them a contender.
The FBI investigations would have made for good cover - yes?

Doesn’t make any sense. If he was hanging around domestic communists legitimately, he wouldn’t have been working for the CIA. If he was infiltrating domestic communists, he wouldn’t have been working for the CIA. Domestic communists were infiltrated by the FBI, but if he was working for the FBI, he wouldn’t have been investigated by them for years and years.
The only thing that makes sense is that he was an actual communist. It’s freaking common sense, I mean, he raised his daughter as a communist red diaper baby. People pretending to be communists as part of some espionage job don’t do that.
