Doesn't sound like this candidate is very libertarian and those thinking of voting for Johnson/Weld might think again. After all, though Johnson supports Second Amendment rights, he could fall off a mountain or something. Far fetched, yeah, but lets make sure FR members who might consider voting for these candidates are aware of their views on this important constitutional right.

“Weld went on to suggest to the interviewer that both handguns and AR-15s are a problem, stating, The problem with handguns is probably even worse than the problem of the AR-15.
I think Weld is the problem.

How can a libertarian be anti-gun? That’s like a pro-life abortionist.

Libertarians are Liberals. Many Libertarians will try to deny it, but they take Liberal positions about 95% of the time.

"The five-shot rifle, thats a standard military rifle; the problem is if you attach a clip to it so it can fire more shells and if you remove the pin so that it becomes an automatic weapon, and those are independent criminal offenses. That is when they become, essentially, a weapon of mass destruction. The problem with handguns probably is even worse than the problem of the AR15"
Bill Weld August 2016
Bill Weld has ZERO business on the Libertarian ticket let alone any public office.

He also stated that 5 round “clips” are standard military issue and that you can turn an AR into a machine gun by simply removing a pin. The stupidity and ignorance burn bright in this one.

I find very little that is “libertarian” about either Johnson or Weld. They are both statists.

Weld has zero gun knowledge, too. Probably thinks Lucas McCain fired fifteen times w/o reloading in the Rifleman intro.
Ask him the difference between a clip & a magazine.
“Well, they’re the same, aren’t they?”

Technically he is correct t. Back when battle rifles were loaded with clips most of them WERE 5 rounders. Now we use magazines which are different things.

Any candidate of any party who wants any new restrictions on our individual, God-given right to keep and bear arms is unacceptable. Even showing enthusiasm for the existing, unconstitutional restrictions on our gun rights is a deal-breaker.

Johnson wants to gut the 1st Amendment and Weld wants to gut the 2nd.
I’ll leave it to the party as to whether they should be called “libertarian”, but neither is worthy of a FReeper’s vote.

William Weld is hardly a libertarian... he’s a Massachusetts squish RINO... not even as good as Mitt Romney.
A vote for Johnson/Weld is a vote for Hillary and that’s shameful.
