Trump is praying for answers to America’s problems and God answers.

“You are a sinner but that is human and you are sincere in your desire. I will grant you a request. Name it, my son.”

“God, I would like to see a wall between the U.S. and Mexico that will keep criminals and illegal aliens out. It will help the economy and keep the U.S. safer.”

That will require a great deal of planning, engineering, and materials. There are river beds, deserts, valleys, and elevations to contend with, as well as property rights. Setbacks will be needed for security purposes. Name something else for now.”

“Okay, help me understand the Democrat mindset.”

“How high do you want that wall?”

“The wall will cost $11 billon”

Wonder how the cost per mile of wall compares with the cost of a mile of freeway.

My approach would be to build some amount of wall, see how it does, and then make decisions about more wall. I think walling off all traversable areas is feasible.

A 11 billion total for 4000 miles would be 2.75 million per mile. Should the wall cost that much per mile?

“We don’t need a multi-billion dollar wall. We need to make life so inhospitable for illegal invaders that they no longer find it worth their troubles to come here in the first place.”

I don't think, with the vast sums of money to be made, that the drug cartels aren't going to stop trying to get their loads here. Besides, the wall would be a symbol of our sovereignty for the world to see. Also we need to make hiring them "inhospitable."

A road would be a better idea. but there must a fence on either side, and a troop tower every half mile or so, with a sand trap on our side to look for footprints and an enclosing fence

“Illegal aliens did not present themselves to be subject to the jurisdiction thereof, so their children are not citizens.”

There were a number of statements made by US Senators who created Amendment XIV. Most support your view, but at least one would support the anchor baby position.

In common government practice, the anchor baby position is being used.

We have a leftist Supreme Court - they will hold that anchor babies are US citizens if the matter comes up again.

Amendment XIV needs to be amended.

Trump has promised to merely enforce the law, not change it.

Unless the first sentence of Amendment XIV amended, we as a nation will continue to have expensive anchor baby/parent problems by the millions - in 2031, 2046, 2061, etc.

One correct interpretation by a conservative court changes it back to what it was before the 1960’s.
The Republicans MUST hold firm and not seat a justice.
Trump MUST win.

And if he doesnt, then what? That’s part of the reason I want Trump to win. To actually see how many of his red meat promises he makes good on.

The US-Mexico border is 1,989 miles long. Nowhere near 4,000 miles!

“A road would be a better idea.”

I think a strong fence is the best idea. We want to stop crossings, not just detect them. We don’t want to be catching illegals after they’ve entered America. Too expensive. Too leaky.

The detection stuff is an essential part, though.

Trump will find a way to pay for the wall and let the Mexican president “save face.” He is a master at thinking outside the box. I expect it to be a combination of things which will be relatively painless, but will get the job done. He liked the Mexican pres. and I am sure appreciates the opening given to him by this man. He will reciprocate in some way, believe it. It is how Trump thinks and how he works. He will get what he wants but will not embarrass Nieto.

“Did you think he was going to make them write a check? “

Yes, I do! To maintain credibilty with the citizens of this country, he needs to make sure that the Mexicans do write a check. We are in the driver’s seat with Mexico as regards financial matters. The Mexican Government, which has $hit on America at every opportunity (can you say Sgt, Tamorissi?) needs an effing reality check. Getting a “free ride” off of the USA for a century or more all the while pi$$ing on our shoes at every possibile opportunity needs to be addressed. I think we need to make it clear to Pena NIeto that unless he publically presents us with a check, that life will get exceedingly tough for his country financially. That’s what I would call a “successful negotiation.” Any serious cuts in “remittances” would financially cripple the Mexican “economy” now that their state-run oil company, Pemex, thrhough massive graft and corruption, has managed to trash the only natural resource Mexico has. Maybe they can ask Carlos Slim for the money.

“How about they add a fee every time someone wires money to someone in Mexico?”

Well that is just it. There are many ways that Mexico will pay for the wall. Let us get him elected first then we will worry about the details.

“4000 miles? Where did you get that figure?”

I made it up. The wall will be curvy and over some nasty terrain so I factor that in by using a long length.

How would you go about estimating the price of the wall?

“Tax remittances, $24 billion were transferred to Mexico last year”
Pays for the wall. And if they object they can leave: a two-pronged approach to keeping illegals out.

Tax wire transfers to Mexico and you will pay it off in no time.

A Tax of 5% on good coming over the border would help—Hey, even a TV fundraiser might earn the money for the wall—and hire Mexicans to build it! It should be three elements. 1) a high wire fence with barbwire. A 36 foot tall cement Wall, Guard Towers and road system. Border should be patroled by Armored Cars to fight with any Drug Dealers that get over the thing. Use Wall could be paid out of funds we give to Mexico to fight crime.

“How much foreign aid do we give Mexico? Deduct it from that.”

I would make those American companies that chose to leave the US for Mexico pay for it. How would that play out?
