Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the Israeli people this evening (Wednesday) ahead of the historic pact to be signed between America and Israel in which Israel is set to receive 38 billion dollars of military aid over the next 10 years. Netanyahu spoke in Hebrew and said that, "In one hour, an historic agreement will be signed between America and Israel. The agreement will ensure that an unprecedented amount of military aid be granted to Israel over the next decade.
In his speech, Netanyahu noted that, "This is the largest package of military aide that the USA has ever granted to another nation. It will allow us to improve our military capabilities and improve our missile defense system. This is a great achievement for Israel and all Israelis can feel blessed by this.
The Prime Minister thanked those involved saying, "I would like to thank President Obama and his administration for this historic agreement. I would like to thank our friends in the Congress and the entire American nation."
Netanyahu stated that, "The agreement serves both our defense interests and America’s interests."
He concluded by saying, "This agreement exemplifies a very simple truth- relations between Israel and America are strong. That doesn’t mean we don’t have disagreements, but the disagreements are within the family. Our ties remain stronger than ever ..."

This is reassuring news. I guess the idea of “balancing the power” of Iran and Israel made this deal ok in some minds.
This shows that Hillary’s poll numbers with American Jews is also trending down. As a Jew I’m laughing. Hope Bibi drove a hard bargain.

With certain military movements in the area, it makes me wonder if Obama knows something is going to happen before $! dollar of that aid is spent.
Congress authorizes such agreements, and they are always subject to review and further action. The details will reveal this is mostly to benefit American defense contractors.
See my post above yours. It is a Obama scam. He is promising LESS than Congress would want to give.
Not in this case. Obama made them sign a letter promising not to take more money from Congress.

I have become recently aware that much of the modern functions of government are to grease the nipples for modern government teat suckers. (Various industries who are positioned to do this.)
Now if the government is recklessly spending money on stuff, I would prefer it be defense related, but I would prefer the government didn't spend more than it took in, regardless of the stated purpose of the spending.

Quite honestly, increasing Israeli defense aid by less than $1B annually while giving Iran $17B (as a starting point) is not a win.
They should of just promised 7 to get this show on the road.
