Oh yes they do! Our daughter’s BF is from Nicaragua and is of mixed race. He’s an engineer with Apple with a degree from UC Berkeley. He get’s hassled by the cops and merchants all the time for no other reason than his color and his hair. He himself has never been in trouble with the law. So if I understand you “being hinky” is grounds for the “hinky black person” dying. Just dispicable! Try treating people as individuals for a change.

He was walking away from the police, in defiance of their orders, he went to his vehicle, reached towards his pockets or into the vehicle, I’m not clear yet on which—you don’t do that and expect to live to tell the story.

So did I, and while I detest the place to this day, the education I got helped me to be a 2%er. When I graduated in 1965 UCB was considered to be the second best Engineering school in the country ( behind MIT). #’s 3 and 4 were CalTech and Stanford. Back then California was a very different place.
