Able Slays Kaine
american spectator ^ | George Neumayr

Posted on 10/05/2016 6:27:59 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

“Did you work on that a long time?” That Reaganesque rejoinder from Mike Pence — one of many — effectively put Tim Kaine in his place during a debate that exposed the depths of the Hillary campaign’s demagogic cheapness.

Pence looked like a statesman; Kaine, rudely interrupting him for much of the debate, looked like a clumsy hatchet man and shameless party hack.

Kaine’s labored lines and sweaty lunges contrasted embarrassingly with Pence’s smooth and substantive debate performance. Pence deftly ignored much of Kaine’s immature invective and directed the audience’s attention to Hillary’s failed record and the clear themes of the Trump campaign.

Kaine devoted most of his energy to rattling off his opposition research, much of it too insiderish and transparently canned to impress anyone. Pence, speaking much more slowly and authoritatively, looked directly at the camera (something Kaine never did) and reiterated basic points about Hillary’s tax-and-spend policies and feckless foreign policy. That proved more effective than any point-by-point rebuttal could have. Pence deftly answered the litany of accusations against Trump by noting that Kaine was indulging in the very “insult-driven campaign” he pretended to find so shocking in Trump.

Of course, insufferable pundits, who last week were whining about Trump “taking the bait,” criticized Pence for “not defending Trump” by refusing to take Kaine’s bait. It was a wise choice by Pence, who commanded the debate through his calm re-directing of it back to serious issues. Even the moderator, who never asked Kaine any pointed questions, found his off-topic trivialities and obsession with Trump’s tax returns tiresome enough to correct him at one point and say: “The question was about Aleppo, Senator.”

I wonder if Hillary had an episode during the debate...

Tim Kaine was eerily reminiscent of Gollum slobberingly acting out and crawling around on the ground in worship of “My Precious,” Hillary Clinton.

He was like an irritating gnat. Seems like the answer and solution to EVERYTHING that was brought up went straight back to being solved if DJT would release his tax returns.

The debate last night reminded me of the famous Aesop fable about The Tortoise and The Hare.

Here, slow and steady won the race.

Pence made a point that will damage the Democrats. The American people should not focus on Trump’s words taken out of context. He is not a focus group prepped slick politician. Instead they should note what Clinton has actually done and failed to do. They can choose the inherently dishonest, shamelessly corrupt, impaired, sloppy Clinton or the free speaking Trump.

DJT did release the substantive bottom line of his tax returns. Sent 3 pages to the MSM which admits he lost a billion and, by obvious consequence, legally hasn’t had to pay income tax since. If the Left doesn’t like it, they’ve had decades to close that well known “loophole”.

(I’m liking the theory that the return address on the “leaked” package was an honest admission that Trump himself approved, even originated, the “leak”.)

Democrat party loyalty to Hillary is eerily reminiscent of 1940’s era Europe.

“I-Know-Nothing” Kaine was ordered to defend her.... despite her atrocious pay-to-play behavior as SoS, her email mess, her corruption of the FBI and everything she touches, the thievery at the Clinton Foundation.

I hope T rump has a dedicated election night strategy....b/c the avaricious, conniving Clintons are ready to pounce.

The shysters will declare victory......despite the returns.

Pence won just for his patients with the little cackling Batum rooster, and he certainly was much more presidential. If I was Pence, Kain would have my fist in his mouth to shut him up. The moderator failed again. She should have had a silencer on Kain's microphone so that Pence could have his turn speaking without being interrupted or shouted down.

Pence wisely let Kaine hang himself with his boorish behavior and insincerely delivered rote lines.

He knew he had to look and act presidential. VP debates usually don’t matter but Pence with his standout performance may have just sealed the election for Trump.

Now Trump has to convince the American people he is the kind of solid leader his running mate sees in him. That opportunity will come on Sunday night.

legally hasn’t had to pay income tax since

Exactly right.

This whole thing drives me crazy.

Trump knows the law. Trump follows the law. No one is saying that Trump has broken the law. And yet the media is outraged and considers this to be a "scandal".

Meanwhile, Hillary's campaign is funded by foreigners, she clearly was involved in pay-for-play, she intentionally mishandled and disseminated classified documents, she lied to the FBI. She lied to Congress. And all of these violations of the law are received with a shrug.

And the focus relentlessly comes back to a private citizen to filed his tax returns perfectly correctly. And outrage ensues.

What's unsettling to me is Kaine's constant goofy grin. He never seems serious about anything.

Having him one heartbeat from the presidency? I shudder.

When you reflect on it, another thing that Pence's Cheney-like manner accomplished—if you recall in 2004, Cheney neutered Johnny Two Americas with a calm, professorly approach—was to draw talking point after talking point out of Kaine the more Pence didn't react.

In 1945 after world war 2 the world lay in ruins. The USA stood alone untouched by war (except for Pearl Harbor) exhibiting the most advanced technoligical society ever created by man the result of free market capitalism.

Asia and Europe were a pile of rubble bombed back to the stone age and the other backward countries as in Africa were still in the Stone Age . The U.S. had all manufacturing
. None of our factories were bombed as they were to the ground in Asia in all of Europe.

Japan and China have now far surpassed the U.S. as is evidence by the 500 billion yearly trade deficit with China.

What happened to America ? shouldn't we have built on top of what we had with even more technology spurring on even greater production so that now we wouldn't even be talking about needing jobs or economic solutions? Politicians including Hillary Clinton and epitomized by Hillary Clinton sold out America.

Hillary's Husband especially sold out America signing a very bad trade deal called NAFTA which sent most of our companies overseas. But even today the media and Hillary herself perpetuate the lie that it was Clinton who has the great economy when it was Clinton that created the decline and our 3r world country status we are now in. Trump pointed this out in the debate and shut the wicked communist witch up with this reply. But the media lies and says that it was Hillary that won the debate with nonsense like “he called me miss piggy” another lie.

Now if you compare Detroit with Hiroshima you would think It was Japan that won the war.

Hiroshima and 200 cities in China like Beijing are now the shining city on a hill and we have decaying cities in America no longer Reagan's shinning city on a hill.
