They are not debates, and there are no moderators.

They are rigged attacks by biased interrogators. No honorable candidate should ever agree to appear before this political equivalent of a firing squad. Just say no.

The Republican Party diminishes its self, Trump has had no part in that. Reince Priebus, to his credit has tried to hold the GOP Princes in line and there in lies the weenie...Fat Cats who are self serving and scared to death of change, healthy as it may be....they just can't swim with lessor fish like Trump.

Those perfumed GOP Princes, now in lock step with the corrupt Clintons and Obamas are totally responsible for the demise of the Grand Old Party, NOT Donald Trump.

My question was, “Why is there a Commission on Presidential Debates in the first place?”

You answered, “After studying the election process in 1985, the bipartisan National Commission on Elections recommended...”

So, my next question is, “Why is (or was) there a National Commission on Elections”?

No sympathy whatsoever. Just how many decades does it take for the GOPe to comprehend the problem? Over and over the stupid party willingly allows themselves to get bamboozled. Oh sure the GOPe pat themselves on the back for their magnanimous display of bipartisanship, while Democrats laugh like the thief who just plundered Ft. Knox. Over and over again.

And what about the mysterious middle-aged man who popped up on the stage immediately after the first debate concluded? He grabbed papers from Hillary’s lectern and handed them to moderator Lester Holt. What was in those papers? There may be an innocent explanation for this but if so it doesn’t appear to have surfaced.

Seriously, HOW HAS THIS GUY NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED AND THE CLINTON TEAM NOT ASKED ABOUT HIM?????

This country is run like a banana republic.

You are right. The debates don’t need moderation other than bare minimum, which can be done by computer. No need for questions. Just timing for each subject.

Now, the debates screw over Americans.

To Hell with the traitorous Republicans.

Who cares what happens to them.

Your plan is great, but no questions needed. Just topics, general topics, like economy, foreign policy, etc.

“Regarding the Sunday debate, he needs to challenge/warn Chris Wallace very early in the debate about bias.”

I would enjoy seeing Trump, at his first opportunity to speak, warn Wallace that if he (Trump) is treated as unfairly as in the first debates, he will leave.

I’ve emailed the Commission. Got no response. We’re just “the little people”. (Deplorables.)

So why isn’t the RNC, at a minimum, raising Hell about this?

This is a very good article about the debate corruption. But I think everyone’s forgetting the purpose of the debates - specifically, to get elected. And so, it’s important to remember also that Trump had won every debate. Won in the only real sense of actually gaining more votes than Hillary add a result of his performance. He used the first debate to get rid of the accusations that he was “out of control.” Then he used the second debate to show what kicking ass and taking names looks like. In both cases, Hillary paled (literally) in comparison. In both cases he totally owned the news flow. In both cases, he kept the voters he had and gained many new ones. Hillary’s fighting tawdry battles with the lying media raping themselves for her, but Trump is winning the war. That’s the take away, that’s the truth. Trump is using the debate corruption itself against the enemy - and its working.

He's been identified as Brady Williamson, a longtime Clinton lawyer. They're probably (rules haven't been made public) allowed to take notes themselves, though they can't bring any in. It is odd Hillary would use a clearly impatient lawyer to do a job an intern would normally do. If he handed them to Holt that would be curious, but that's not clear. Other videos show Williamson taking something from under Hillary's podium, but not Trumps, maybe a charger. Some kind of black box. And he was the first person to greet Hillary when she arrived by limo. May have given her something. Whole thing is odd, but who would be surprised if she cheated.

The second debate was fractionally better. The MR basically did an editorial on the dead Syrian child before even posing the question to Trump. Why couldn’t he just ask the question? It was his OPINION that what is happening in Syria is terrible.

Before that he asks if DT is a sexual predator? May as well ask if HC is an axe murderer. Both are unfounded.

I will also blame Fox News for doing sweet FA for the candidate. When have they broadcast anything remotely negative about Hillary?
