And blame it the Rooskies. They’ve been playing up that meme.

"Why are we paying all of these numbskulls at the NSA and
16 other agencies if they can’t stop some 2 bit
hacker from China from STEALING the identities of MILLIONS
of Americans with security clearances from secure OPM servers?"

First off, I'm not a US government employee.
I used to be a long time ago but I'm not now.
Second, I think the OPM database breech was an inside job.
In other words, I think the Obama Admin let them in.
Why and for what is anyone's guess.

Most likely the Chi-Comms will be paying off Obama in the future for his generous gift. And also, Obama hates America.
He doesn't care what gets compromised.
It's just punishment for those racist white Americans.
I don't think Obama gives a damn what happened.

And yes, OPM and NSA and these other supposedly super
hi-tech spy agencies and government IT workers, appear to totally inept.
The taxpayers are not getting their money's worth.
The US Government appears to be totally open to cyber exploitation.
Apparently all of these super secret spy agencies would rather spend their time spying on American citizens rather then protecting Americans
from their enemies.

“As of 2:00 AM EDT on Sat., Oct. 22, Cyber-Sleuths are still working to mitigate ongoing “attacks”causing massive Internet outages across the U.S. all day. But a troubling pattern is emerging: The attacks originate (mostly) INSIDE the U.S. According to the automated attack-monitoring-map offered by FortiGuard, much of today’s Internet trouble was caused by attacks launched against Data Centers in Boston, New York, Washington, DC, San Francisco and Seattle. But the largest bursts of these attacks originated repeatedly from Wichita, Kansas.

Using the GeoIP lookup system, open public records seem to indicate the attacks originated from a geographic area about 5 miles southeast of downtown Wichita, but there are no large public data centers located in that part of the city. In fact, the only large anything in that area is McConnell Air Force Base. HMMMMM. According to the public web site of McConnell Air Force Base, the first- and perhaps most important function- of that base is the 184th Intelligence Wing. “Intelligence” as in... information... as in computers! HMMMMM.

They know they’re going to loose big so they are planning something that will ultimately get them a noose around their necks

They tested regional shutoffs of the Internet Kill Switch in advance of the coup.

Both coasts and Texas. They left flyover country alone. Nope, that doesn't sound like a foreign government.

It was primarily internet devices in this case. Very little computer involvement.

Exactly my thoughts, our own government.

Prelude to saying the election must be delayed because of data breach problems or something like that.

Delay then some more delay.

Delay?

Then this must be met with an immediate rising crescendo of protest, and demands (non-negotiable!) of an election with PAPER FORMS!

Maybe we should start organizing this right now. Not much time left, you know...

The blog story you reference used highly unreliable SuperStation95 as a source.
I can find no definite evidence to substantiate internal by our government.

Brian Krebs provides excellent analysis of the problem here:
