The position of FBI director is a 10-year post. Can’t be fired. It’s set up that way to give him/her the latitude to do what’s needed without worry of political consequence or whatever. Comey is not worried about his job.

I’ve wondered the same thing. There are always timing issues and implications to consider when deadlines are involved.

Yep. It seems to me that the NYPD investigators spotted it first, which is why they pulled the FBI into the investigation, and why Comey was forced to reopen the Clinton case.
Whatever it is, it’s too big to sweep under the rug.

This may clarify why Comey opted to reopen the email case against Lynch’s objections - DOJ has been stonewalling the CF investigation and may cut its own head off if it doesn’t issue the indictments the FBI has requested for the CF investigation.
