The White House chef may even agree with that.

I have been trying to figure out Comey’s motivations since July, as well.

I have found reading Andrew McCarthy of NRO helpful in that regard. McCarthy worked with Comey at SDNY, and has been very critical of him over the last few months. But he wrote an article today that is worth reading.

Perhaps Comey, like every skilled attorney, had already asked the key question: how is this going to play out? He seems to have intuited the correct answer.

McCarthy has a nice piece up now, in which he goes into the Just Us Department's peculiar choice of the DOJ District that should be in charge of the Clinton investigation. He argues persuasively that it should be the SDNY (the office in which he worked), not the EDNY (which Loretta Lynch headed until Zero appointed her AG). He writes, "The EDNY is clearly not the center of gravity when we consider the conduct the FBI is examining. Yet it has become the hub of the investigation. That can only be because the Obama Justice Department steered it there."

He goes on:

By the way, I should note that federal prosecutors tend to be an ambitious and aggressive bunch. And there is nothing they crave more than high-profile political-corruption cases — just ask Rudy Giuliani, the legendary SDNY U.S. attorney (who hired both current FBI director Jim Comey and yours truly). Ask Chris Christie, formerly the U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey, who similarly launched a highly successful political career by prosecuting headline-grabbing political-corruption cases. Ask Preet Bharara, the current SDNY U.S. attorney who is poised to do the same thing, having made his bones as an anti-corruption crusader.

McCarthy detects dissension within the Justice Department, between Washington and the various offices (of which there are 93). Perhaps Preet Bharara will go off the reservation and give the FBI what it needs to continue the investigation.

Lynch and Obama think they can continue to lie. Comey wants to deal to stay out of jail.Exactly right.

Looks like Comey got recalibrated, maybe he was told he wouldn't live to see the election. This is very important to Hussein Obama, he cannot allow Trump to be President as Trump has promised he will undo much of the destruction Hussein has done.

Ditto Hillary.
