You mean, “How did we not see this coming?” perhaps? Glad you asked!
1) A few polls were grossly overinflated for the Ds. Ten thousand “journalists” just kept citing those over and over without asking questions because “of course Hillary’s going to beat him!”
2) You gave Trump easily a billion dollars of free publicity by covering his supposedly outrageous statements. Sure, he could’ve buckled under the pressure, but he fought hard and didn’t back down. Thus, the greater the pressure, the harder he fought, the more we liked him.
3) You sold yourselves on your own superiority. That’s destined to end poorly. It sure as hell did for Hillary.
Oh, the truth was out there. I got fantastic early/absentee vote analysis on Twitter easily a week before the election (h/t to FReeper LS and his awesome analysis) that all but guaranteed a Trump victory, so it didn’t surprise me at all. PA, MI, and WI were a little “iffy,” but NC, FL, and OH were practically guaranteed. VA was even in play, but not solid at all, so I figured we’d lose that one.
If I got this from some analysis available to anyone/everyone on Twitter, surely the journalist intelligentsia could’ve figured it out?
A talented graphics artist needs to take these melt downs and make a collage that fades in to the face of Trump. Just like that stupid “stand with Obama” PSA all the Hollywood Bozos
