White trash means something different here. Drug infested, poor or lower middle class on welfare/snap, many with records, their fathers’ fathers were dem union men and union or not, they are still dem.

We are nearly all working class and lower middle class people here-small ranchers, RV and cabin parks for snowbirds, construction trades, service type small business owners-no welfare queens-probably because they’d be living around 50 miles from any free stuff- neither the general store, hardware store or dollar store take EBT cards.

We do have a meth lab blow up or get busted now and then, but illegal business like that tends to set up shop in remote areas everywhere...

If the democrat party was like it was 30-40 years ago, this whole county could be a wet dream for them-but they went left and abandoned the rural blue collar folks of all colors-now, rural areas aren’t buying what they are selling-except for some border areas in S Texas where people are still on the democrat plantation...

I apologize if I offended anyone.

Staten Island’s South Shore is pretty affluent and though what my wife and I make is NOT a lot here by any means, it would be in many states.

Not really meth labs out here. No real rural area to have a good hidden one.

A lot of roxys and xanax.

Was offer 1200 bucks for a bottle of prescription roxys.

At 20, I might have been stupid and careless enough to take it.

I was 43 at the time and I dont deal in death. Or prison!

Funny thing is what me and the wife make is considered JUST barely middle class here.

A lot of Wall Street money on Staten Island, as well as construction, etc.

And contrary to popular belief, the boys are still around and they’ve brought a lot of money to the island over the past 40 years.

No offense taken-every state is different-if you made the money a person operating a small business that is doing reasonably well out here makes, I’m pretty sure you would not be able to afford even a 4th floor walk-up flat anywhere in or around NYC-but out here, it is a reasonably good living as long as you don’t have to have a McMansion in an enclave, a new truck or SUV or a fancy vaca...

Cowboy cocaine-aka meth-is the illicit drug of choice in this and most rural areas-the real stuff-and scrip stuff is more expensive and so found more in cities where people make/have more money to buy illicit sh**.

There is a moratorium on new commercial development in this county-it was put in place in 2003 to keep greed, land grabbing and Mexican mafia money out, while protecting and conserving our natural resources-water, woods and pastures, etc-it has worked great, and it limits business opportunities to local people and small business-not for everyone, but it is one of the main reasons most of us live here...

Exactly. We got to this point inch by inch, until finally the majority of the people are being forced into living in a bizarre world a world of the ridiculous.

Even a rabbit fights back when cornered. Push the stupid agenda far enough, and people eventually get tired of being forced to live by rules that only appeal to a minority and trample on the rights of the majority.

It seems statistically LGBTs comprise 1-3% of the whole population in the US. Why are they so conspicuous? Why don’t they just not be so in our face about their sexual orientation?

I really don’t care what sex anyone professes to be and I do not care if they marry each other. That is their business and in my opinion their right. But they do not have any right to force me to vote any particular way, or to honor their marriages or their divorces. I love how creative so many LGBTs seem to be; likewise I love how creative heterosexuals are or can be.

I think most people do feel as I do and the laws do support this attitude. I think they have little to worry about.

It seems they feel the need to push themselves on everyone else...I don’t know why unless it’s a feeling of inferiority...

Bandera-it is a fairly small, rural, sparsely populated county-less than 20,000-tourism is the only industry-so not an area large enough/with enough resources to absorb and support development on any real scale, even if we wanted to-and we don’t...

Sounds like a great place. We are about 75 miles south of St. Louis. Eventually, I suspect that the metro area will spread, but likely not in my lifetime.

These are not issues that are preventing Americans from working, I think Trump wants to take care of that first

On the way home from work on Friday, I saw that my neighbor up the road had a new sign on his gate that looked professionally made saying Hillary a la carcel-ahora!-Hillary to jail-now! It looks professionally made-I’m going to ask him where he got it-I want one, too-we deplorables need to keep reminding our side that we want that bitch to be prosecuted-the faster the better-Martha Stewart got hard time for just doing insider trading-and Gen Petraeus got his life totally ruined for letting his mistress see semi-classified info...

I want us to hit back hard at these people-they never showed any restraint cramming their agenda down our throats-so let them have the same-good and hard...

Here’s what Trump has said about same-sex “marriage’. When asked did he agree with it, he said his personal views on marriage it’s a man and woman, but has went on to say the Supreme Court ruled and until they rule another way that’s the way it is. Liberals could not pin him down on it. He has also said he’ll appoint strict constitutionists to the US Supreme Court. That means no Anthony Kennedy to swing the vote for same-sex “marriage”. No where in the Constitution is marriage mentioned and it’s always been left up to the states. I think Anthony Kennedy’s marriage ruling has a good chance of getting overturned if a couple more conservatives are appointed to the court. Overturning Roe V. Wade? Read my comments about marriage.

Agree with that inclination totally. Speaking of signs, I had a feeling from the lack of signs in our area, which has been so traditionally voted Democrat even though the majority of people are social conservatives, and almost everyone hunts deer, turkey whatever.

They are the old-time Democrats, blue collar workers. The lack of signs for Hillary made me think that this county would go Republican this time, and boy did it ever. Two thirds for Trump. Plus, for the first time in over 40 years, the Pubbies actually had people on the local ballot for almost every position. All but one of those races went Pubbie.

Question - technically, didn’t Martha Stewart go to jail for obstruction of justice, because she lied? IIRC, they couldn’t prove insider trading, but could prove that she was no honest about her responses to their inquiry.

That makes it even worse, I think. Look how many things the Toons have lied about and under oath too.

Sounds like the silent majority where you are went for Trump like they did for Reagan before...

That was the charge that actually sent Martha Stewart to jail because the evidence was all there-I remember reading that there was some evidence of insider trading, but not very much-probably because she’d been a stockbroker for a long time and really knew how to hide stuff like that-sort of like Bill and Hillary being lawyers and knowing how to hide evidence and lie-I don’t care what it takes to get jail for Hillary-but there are certainly a lot of options-especially after that weasel Comey reversed himself twice-hold his feet to the fire first of all...

There have been efforts off and on over the years to get an organized dem party out here, but none have been successful-there is never a dem candidate in any local or regional race-only in the state and national races...

Rescind the “Johnson Amendment” immediately ... it’ll strengthen our side for the coming battles. Besides it unconstitutionally abridges political speech... Jesus was quite simply in many ways a political figure and his teachings were political / legal in nature ,, whether teaching about Jewish law or the roles of groups within larger political groups and under other groups.
