An economic adviser of President-elect Donald Trump said Tuesday that the transition team was working on plans for a tax code overhaul that would be “the biggest tax changes since Reagan.”

Steven Mnuchin, a former Goldman Sachs banker who is considered a leading candidate for Treasury secretary in the Trump administration, told reporters at Trump Tower in New York that the team was hard at work on an economic plan.

“We’re working on the economic plan with the transition, making sure we get the biggest tax bill passed, the biggest tax changes since Reagan, so a lot of exciting things in the first 100 days of the Trump presidency,” Mr. Mnuchin said, according to a pool report.

Sounds like Trump will get more done in the first 100 days than Obama did in 8 years.

I have to laugh at the same people who totally screwed up the Reagan revolution, starting with G Bush I, now want to sneer at Trump for trying to undo their damage.

Please consider the flat tax for income so it isn’t so easy for the next Democrat to just raise taxes on ‘the rich’.

I would like to see an overhaul of the nonprofit/tax exempt code but that may too much to expect. No reason that any political activity should qualify under these classifications.

Perhaps if Steve Forbes is brought into the mix, he will promulgate his Flat Tax as he did years ago. Works for me! As former Congressman Bill Archer (TX-Rep) said,”It’s time to rip the tax code out by its roots!” And that was years ago...

I look forward to this being a time of innovation and great opportunity

However

Also of obstructionism, malevolence, treason and sheer evil as attempts to prove Trump a failure accelerate

I heard yesterday that Trump may push for an end to the use of the 1031 exchange that is pretty standard tool in the real estate business for pushing capital gains taxes further upstream time-wise.

Not an idea that is likely to be favored by R.E. investors and maybe not good news for the industry in general. OTOH, if he knocks down capital gains taxes enough it might just be a good trade.

Not sure how this will play out.

Changes already began!!!!

“Once a people determine in their hearts to be free, they already are”

The movement of people freeing themselves from oppressive tyranny masquerading as “progressivism” is already underway

could be better than Reagan. Reagan did raise taxes. Of course, he had to deal with a dem congress at the time. Trump will have both houses of congress from day 1, something the GOP didn’t have in ages (Bush started out with a split Senate, Cheney was tie breaker but Jeffords gave it back to the dems)

Simply not allowing money transfers between non-profits would help a lot.

If you give to a non-profit, then they have to actually use the money, not just pass it on...:^)
