So Trump ditched his press pool tonight to grab a steak dinner-- a terrible violation of protocol that his defenders will probably cheer-----------Liberals are pathetic!

The breathless diatribe I referred to at the top came from none other than Rachel Maddow at MSNBC, who introduced her brief coverage of this event by describing the story as, really, really important. It is a matter of tradition, a matter of security, a matter of national interest that you dont go dark
you dont get to be a private person anymore. People get to know where you are at all times
You may resent that youre not allowed to have a private life anymore, but its a matter of national security and national interest
You really dont get to just go anywhere you want. Its too important to the country.-----------I love Trump he just doesn't give a crap about the media...

At the risk of tooting my own horn, I observed earlier that Trump, like Reagan, has been in the public eye for decades, good and bad, without holding any office.
He does not need the oxygen of publicity the way Obama and the Clintons gasp for it. Despite his high profile, Trump has always protected his privacy.
Granted, there is no more visible job in the world than POTUS but perhaps - hopefully - Trump has a bit of Coolidge in him and will cease the vapid, silly practice of the White House opining on vapid, silly pop culture.
It wouldn’t bother me one whit if the ‘sports teams visit the White House’ idiocy was retired.
It’s probably too much to ask that the State Of The Union be pared back to 30 min or not at all but anything to restore some sanity and dignity after famewhores Barack & Michelle.

I’m sure the other patrons at the restaurant appreciated his consideration. They want a nice dinner, too, not a media circus.
(If invited, would the press have paid for their meals and tipped well? Didn’t think so...)

They’re going to be indescribably apoplectic when he throws them out of the White House Press Pool.

Gotta love Trump. He owns the media!

I really enjoyed seeing the press get all stompyfeet over this!

I recognized Jazz Shaw’s writing style right off the bat. He’s about the only readable writer at HotAir.

Yes we will cheer. These people aren’t the free press and Trump has no duty, legal or otherwise, to accord them any special consideration. They are the globalist press and represent the interests contrary to those of the people.
The president can easily and immediately reach the American public directly by a myriad of communications platforms. I hope this happens often.

Ironic that so many of those who despise him will grovel for an extra few minutes of time to watch him pick his teeth after a meal......Pricless!

I can not wait until Trump cancels ALL the White House press passes and makes everyone re-apply thru the newly revamped and oh so thorough vetting process.

I’ll bet it’s true, as the writer suggested, that they would have let the some protesting organization know, and protestors would have shown up and spoiled the environment for everyone, and the press would have had a “story.”

Trump should call a press conference and tell them he needs the media to cover an important event that’s about to unfold. He then should lead him to the bathroom and invite them to watch him take a dump.
To: ealgeone
i either heard on some news channel someone say that already the Trump administration is not being transparent... ha!
