Cal State Will Not Help Deport Undocumented Students Under Trump, Chancellor Says [Largest Public University]

In the face of Donald Trump’s pledge to start large-scale deportations, California State University Chancellor Timothy P. White reaffirmed on Wednesday the university's commitment to fostering a learning community that is "safe and welcoming" for its thousands of students who came to the U.S. illegally.
As the largest public university system in the nation, Cal State's mission to provide accessibility to higher education and embrace the diversity of its 470,000 students remains unchanged, White said during a Board of Trustees meeting in Long Beach. Unless forced to by law, he said, Cal State "will not enter into agreements with state or local law enforcement agencies, Homeland Security or any other federal department for the enforcement of federal immigration law."
"Our police departments will not honor immigration hold requests," he added. "Our university police do not contact, detain, question or arrest individuals solely on the basis of being … a person that lacks documentation."

then no federally backed / authorized student aide, grants, etc. should go to this institution - not only because they are breaking the law and encouraging lawless behavior, but because investing in this place is an obvious waste of money as far as having an educated populace if the very administration encourages this way of thinking.
President Trump’s new head of the Dept of Education needs to start reducing the funding provided to the State of California .... but it’ll never happen ...

No problem. If the Cal State University system refuses to cooperate with federal law, President Trump and the Republican Congress will just refuse to provide the university system with federal funds.
If Trump and Congress do as they promised and the CSU system does as this knucklehead promises, there will be over a dozen major university campuses in California that will have to close shop due to a lack of funds.

We have all suspected that conservatives would finally reach the breaking point and start a civil war, but it has become very clear, the next civil war will be started by the left. At what point does America with Trump at the helm spark that fight by firing on a Democrat stronghold? How are these proclamations by governors and mayors defying the rule of law that much different than what occurred before the last civil war?

Why does this idiot think the DHS/ICE/INS under Trump is going to need his help to do their job ? Does he think his kampus kops will deter federal agents from doing their jobs if it takes them on campus ?
