The movie “Years of Lightning, Day of Drums” was produced by Bruce Herschensohn, who would become a conservative pundit and Senate candidate in California.
A major flaw in the film is its portrayal of President Eisenhower’s space program as a series of failures. In fact, Eisenhower’s space program was a spectacular success in which successful space shots far outnumbered failures.
I was tempted to say "We've had only one Irish Catholic president and they blew his f@$%ing brains out," but I didn't.
I'm an Irish Catholic American.
Years of Lightning, Day of Drums is an excellent film that captures JFK’s vitality as well as the crucial/harrowing events of his presidency, plus his State funeral. Its historic footage alone is priceless to any student of those times.
There’s a half hour [PBS] video of Bruce Herschensohn, the film’s director -who also composed the stirring musical score- explaining why he, a Republican, felt compelled to make this film. It’s worth watching. (Sorry, could not find a video link.)
Nov 22nd used to be a very observed date.
That’s all over now. I wonder how many people today know much of anything about it.
And even fewer know that Oswald tried to assassinate General Edwin Walker (Ret.) on April 10, 1963. Took a shot by firing into a window of Walker’s home and just missed.
The FBI discovered that the attempt was made on Walker by Oswald during the Kennedy investigation. Marina corroborated the story. Walker was a right-winger, Oswald called him a Hitler-like fascist.
Walker was connected with a Wanted Poster for Kennedy done as a political statement. It accuses Kennedy of treason and the charges read much like what has been written about Obama, just substitute Muslim for Communist.
Walker and Oswald both hated Kennedy, but Walker never took a shot at him. He did have to resign and retire after being found guilty of violating the Hatch Act in 1961. He passed out John Birch Society writings to soldiers under his command.
Little snippets of history lost to most.
JFK was murdered by a communist not unlike the onez in todays Democrat party.

IOW, Oswald was a bum shot.
Thought, I thought it was really great comeback.
IIRC, the Army and Navy were contending with each other for the primary launch rockets. Navy had the Vanguard as their prime candidate while the Army was developing the Redstone.
When I worked in Dallas, I drove by the Walker mansion every day. It was on Preston Road and seems like everybody knew exactly which window Oswald had fired through.
Subsequently, if I am not mistaken, the mansion was purchased by Harding Lawrence, the President of Braniff Airways, and his wife Mary Wells -- co-founder of the Wells, Rich & Green advertising agency which did the Braniff ads ("The End of the Plain Plane").

The ONLY person who really, I mean really wanted to know what happened was an Irish Catholic. Her father was devastated when JFK was brutally murdered. She was not only interested, she was very, very intelligent. She was usually ahead of what I was showing her.
It turns out there are TWO INDEPENDENT ways to determine the times between each of the shots. I have shown that the times between each of the shots is the same in BOTH which means statistically that BOTH are valid measures of the shooting. Otherwise, you are forced to argue that some guys analyzing an audio tape just happened to get the times the same as the only film. It is NOT statistically possible that the times in the film and the audio tape unless the sounds of the shots were recorded.
Then I add in the fact that dozens of witnesses agree with what the audio tape analysis shows, the last two shots were fired BANG-BANG, two shots almost on top of each other.
Knowing that the audio tape did record the sounds coupled with the information the Zapurder film gives allows the observer to determine what happened during the shooting. It soon follows that the only way all of this could be possible is if the US government lied, forged evidence and harassed witnesses to hide the truth.
