So did schools do away with the work cooperative classes? I took 2 summer classes after the 10th grade so I could take this 2 credit elective as a JR and SR. Had to eat lunch at school and was released after that, loved it and gained lots of experience.

“There are more than enough able bodied workers on the welfare roles to do the work - if they were willing. The question is: how to motivate them to do the work?”

Stop welfare payments. That will motivate them,

Illegals gravitate to welfare. Go to the walmarts of so. Ca, Az, NM, Tx where no one speaks English and everyone has a million children with ebt and welfare.

You have to remember that even with tens of millions of illegals these poor pathetic business still do not have workers.

You have to remember too that there are 95 million out of work. Why are these business not farming the unemployed. There are other issues at work for these businesses.that goes for H1B,too.

When I was in my 20s, I worked for a small custom electronics company. When we didn’t have orders, my boss and I would hang sheetrock. Piecework. Made really good money! Now all the drywall companies have mexican crews.

In Dallas, the King of Texas Roofing Co. says it has turned down $20 million worth of projects in the past two years because it doesn’t have enough workers.

....that it can hire “on call” and misclassify to skirt Workers Compensation Insurance requirements?

In the San Francisco Bay Area, Joe Hargrave is expanding his successful Tacolicious chain of restaurants, but says he is building smaller ones due to “a massive shortage of restaurant workers.”

...at the “tipped wage” of $2.13 per hour?

And in Florida, Steve Johnson, who harvests oranges for the citrus industry, says, “Right now, if I had 80 guys, I could put every one of them to work.”

...”because if they were 80 Mexican guys instead of 80 American guys, I wouldn’t have to deal with all that fancy crap like “portable outhouses” and “washing stations” and “minimum wage”?

Great business model. Hire workers for slave wages, charge less for the job, but still have a larger margin.

Yes. I agree. I say make them work and subtract from their pay any welfare they receive. Perhaps, at a reduced rate.

End welfare and other forms of taxpayer funded benefits to anyone that can work. Should get these people to work. If not, starve.

“How about american teenagers put down their video games and work after school. How about schools let Seniors get school credit for working half day or 1 day a week or pay higher wages so americans will do the work.”

Back in the day, when you didn’t have to pay 16 year olds 15 bucks an hour, you could hire a bunch of them to do all kinds of menial tasks at a variety of businesses. But now since you cant afford to hire 5 kids with no skills and an unknown dependability at a few dollars each to do a whole bunch of tasks, where if one cant show up for work for whatever reason it really does not present a burden. But at 15 bucks or more an hour, they need to be able to do a lot more, and be a hell of a lot more dependable, with fewer employees it is a way bigger deal if one cant show up for some reason.

So who would you hire for $15. Who is more likely to be reliable? A pimply faced kid, or a mother of two that needs a paycheck to feed her kids?

Yep - don’t forget to add in the unemployment, welfare/food stamp, drain on charities of displaced American workers.

W and Jeb didn’t care -— and Barry Obama kept right on supporting CoC along with the Uniparty. How any unemployed / dirt poor American could find any support for Obama or Hillary is beyond me.

60 Roofers

If a competant roofer would offer this business owner a job, would this owner work it?

Hell no, he would go on welfare complaining about cheap labor. Business bosses want a free lunch. They are economically illiterate.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE are ECONOMICALLY ILLITERATES

They don’t need to pay more. The minimum wage needs to be eliminated. If Americans could be hired for lower wages then those Americans who aren’t worth nine dollars an hour could find work and we wouldn’t need Mexicans.

Yes. Tell the able-bodied welfare recipients they need to get off their backs get wbd go to work. Even President Clinton agreed to this. The reason we now have to support so many able-bodied lazy bums is because Obama dropped the work requirement
Many

clean up all the fake disability benefit people, end welfare for able bodied people, eliminate minimum wage. There would be a tremendous availability of people looking for work.

Teenagers alone, have been frozen out of jobs by the millions and suffer from the lack to real life work experience.

Guys like this aren’t “illiterate”. They want to be king while skirting normal rules, leaving out American workers, all the while enriching themselves.

That’s the bottom line of their “complaining”. A bunch of them got away with the illegal stuff back in the day and now it’s not as easy.

First demand Business Owners who hire illegals give up their citizenship.

Next they must live in 10 families per household, high density areas, to justify the low wages.

True, the New Slavery is illegal immigration.
