Adams County (Wisconsin): A vote for Barack Obama, then Donald Trump; What happened?
Wisconsin State Journal ^ | 11/27/2016 | Mark Sommerhauser

Posted on 11/27/2016 9:36:01 AM PST by ThE_RiPpEr.

In the end, Doreen Putzkie did the only thing that made sense to her in this presidential election.

She gave up.

Putzkie, 49, waits tables at Country Skillet, a diner on the main street of this small central Wisconsin town. On TV and in her diner, Putzkie heard nonstop chatter about the election.

She grew weary of the claims and counter-claims, the mudslinging, and perhaps most of all, the confusion about what to believe.

Putzkie, of Adams, said she votes for Democrats in most elections, including for President Barack Obama in 2012.

This time, Putzkie said she knew she would not support Republican nominee Donald Trump.

But Democrat Hillary Clinton never closed the sale. Disgusted by the campaign's tone and nagged by questions about Clinton's emails when she was Secretary of State, Putzkie decided not to vote. Her husband, who she said usually votes at her behest, didn't either.

"The important stuff didn't get brought up in this campaign," Putzkie said. "I said: 'This time, I'm not gonna do it.'"

Putzkie was part of something brewing beneath the surface in Wisconsin's farm fields and small towns. On Nov. 8 it would shock the world, making Wisconsin one of three Great Lakes states, including Michigan and Pennsylvania, to defy polls and their recent voting history by electing Trump president.

Rural Wisconsin was decisive in making Trump the first Republican to carry the Badger State in more than three decades. Thanks in part to a weak showing by Clinton, Trump won 18 rural counties that went for Obama four years ago.

This is a good read on what happened to Hillary in rural Wisconsin. A recount can't fix a lack of enthusiasm for a lying crook.

I bet this woman is miffed about the recount as they want to overturn her vote.

There were a lot of dead people that couldn’t get to the polls on the 8th . . . they are now voting absentee.

Putzkie decided not to vote.

Did I read this article correctly? Neither she nor her husband voted, according to article.

She didn’t vote.
However, she could ‘vote’ in the recount if you know what I mean.

"The important stuff didn't get brought up in this campaign," Putzkie said.

Free abortion on demand? Midnight basketball? 437 consecutive weeks of unemployment benefits? What got missed that was important to her?

I misread the article. I thought she voted but her husband did not.

She didn’t vote, so maybe Hillary is going to have her people go over the rolls and tell the judge that because this lady voted Democrat in the past, then she had an “implied” vote that should go to her total.

Hillary did not visit the state once between the end of the Democratic Convention and the general election.

All the polls predicted she had WI in the bag. By the time she realized it was in play, it was too little, too late.

Incredible blunder, when you stop to think about it.

Hillary did not visit Wisconsin once, it’s her own fault she lost.

I don’t know what is important to the woman in the story, but what was most important to many was stopping the illegal alien inundation and that is what put Trump over the top.

I don't think an HONEST recount would change the outcome of the election. What will change the outcome is the 139,008 democratic votes found in a dumpster in back of the Democratic office in Milwaukee.

If these crooks overturn Trumps election or throw it into the House it is time for the coming Social War to begin in earnest.

Please refrain from spouting conspiratorial theories.

Its bad enough we hear that outlandish garbage from Democrats. We don’t need to hear from our side.

There are no uncounted ballot boxes in Milwaukee County waiting to be discovered to swing the election.

Why do you think that that will happen? You and others here carrying on like you are the smartest people in the room with ideas like that and need that sort of attention.

Obama’s a fraud. The jobs are leaving. The government is encroaching in every way possible. People are losing. All under Obama.

Trump intends to unhook the government chains that are holding people down.

Trump repeatedly pledged during the campaign to repeal Obama's health care law. But Beda said Trump instead should "fix" the law "to make it something that people can use ... something that is affordable."

Trump did NOT say he would repeal ObamaCare - he said he would 'repeal and replace it' with something better.

This misrepretation negates much of what's being said... Mark Sommerhauser's showing he's third string... (and liberal)

My wife comes from a working class family of Rats in Chicago. This time they all voted Trump. They are completely fed up and impoverished by immigration and trade. Their jobs have gone bye bye and the Mexican want
To change the name of the local Catholic Church to some Mexican saint.

Its nonsense.

We’re not Mexico where they just stuff ballot boxes and steal elections in broad daylight.

Trump won WI by a healthy margin, period. No recount will change it.

What will happen in Wisconsin is a recount in the literal sense. Only votes counted at the time of the election will be counted again. There will be no suddenly discovered boxes of ballots. What we need to watch for, however, is statistical hand-waving to try to nullify Trump votes by claiming they could only be due to Russian hackers.
