Jimmy Carter is the only former president who has confirmed that he will attend the inauguration of Donald Trump on 20 January 2017. Earlier this month, Carter who had endorsed Hillary Clinton in the race to the White House, said at his Sunday school class in Georgia that he would attend the ceremony.

According to Politico, Bill Clinton and George W Bush will decide whether to attend the inauguration in the New Year. A source familiar with Bush told Politico that he is still weighing in on whether to attend the ceremony or not.

I'll give credit where credit is due. This is a very classy move on Carter's part. It's the way decent Americans are supposed to behave.

Contrast Carter's behavior with that of Bill Clinton and George W Bush, both of whom are still pouting.

Whatever my disagreements with W I used to think he had some class.

Now, not so much.

As with other issues, it doesn’t hurt Trump if Bushes and Clinton don’t attend.

It helps him - again proves things are truly changing. And Trump can take the gloves off when battling their cronies in government.

Here is a hint boys, we don’t want you there.

Stay at home with your memories and watch history being made on your television.

There is a new sheriff in town and it ain’t you.

Don’t former presidents normally attend presidential inaugurations, whether the new president is from his political party or not????

I think George H.W. Bush has seen declining health, which would explain his absence.

NEVER thought I'd be praising Jimmy Carter, while expressing disappointment in Dubya! (I'm not surprised by anything Bill Clinton does.) I am betting Dubya DOES end up attending Trump's inauguration because it is the right thing to do, and that Clinton ends up attending because he cannot resist the limelight.

I totally agree. I’m sure Trump doesn’t give a rats arse if they don’t show up. Class is the operative word here and I must say Jimmy Carter shows it.

I don’t have a lot of good things to say about Carter, but I will say that he didn’t seem like a Globalist.

Carter is therefore the last living president who was not a Globalist. He didn’t do a good job of leading America (IMO) but he did try to do his best for America. The other living presidents served the New World Order as their highest goal.

And that game is over. They lost. Now they sulk.

I am so angry at the bushes. I feel like a rube because of how much I defended some of there actions. when both were president. I could care less about Clinton attending.

Jimmy Carter displaying more class than the rest of them. Poor Trump. He can’t get people to play at his inauguration for fear of backlash and the former Presidents are willing to disrespect him.

I hope he revels in it since he campaigned as The Outsider.

Ok.. really do we know neither of the Bush’s will attend?!

If that’s true if neither of these guys are going to attend I didn’t think they were that kind of chicken s***

I am really really really really getting tired anti-Trumper demagoguing b*******

Because it’s a truth spitting in the face of all of us, the American public, that voted for Trump

And all you s*** politicians and celebrities that give lip service to believing in the Constitution then turn around and throw this childish pout because you didn’t get your way that the Great unwashed didn’t kiss your ass like you order them to
