No ONE who has EVER witnessed, first hand, the brutality, destruction and evil of Uday and Qusay would write anything so stupid.

Recognizing the atrophy of a once great Conservative Periodical, National Review, still yet, we expected better from their editorial staff and guest authors!

This vile slur against the Trumps is both beneath contempt and unforgivable! Both the Author and National Review are guilt!

Long ago I cancelled my subscription that I once anxiously awaited and had my wife send me even when I was deployed to the most remote corners of the earth. I will further boycott by never again reading anything published by the author or magazine until an appropriate apology is given and the author terminated.

Did I miss something?

Aren’t Uday and Qusay in the great virgin repository in the sky?

Kevin Williamson should not be let near a computer, nor pen and paper.

I remember when National Review was considered a true journalistic effort. GOPe politics makes strange bedfellows.

NR is at death’s door. Subscriptions are down, web traffic is down and the publisher is reduced to begging for donations every other day

Of course they wouldn’t ever fire a gutless punk like this.

They save that treatment for embarrassing, unreasonable conservatives such as the great Mark Steyn.

I’d rather read the Rolling Stone.

National Review compares Barron and Eric Trump to Uday and Qusay

Uday and Qusay, Saddam Hussein's sons, were sadistic murderers. Does National Review really want to follow the example of the most hysterical segments of the Left on this?

With deep regret and trepidation, I toggled over to the National Rot site to verify that a NR staff writer could have penned this steaming pile. It seemed to me that the writer was anxiously looking for any news item to attach his flash of literary brilliance; “Donald and Ivanka and Uday and Qusay are genuinely bad human beings.”

The hater...er, writer must feel better now that this fetid fart of the printed word has been released. I look forward to the day when the National Rot is shuttered - it has been tarnished beyond redemption ...

Williamson accused all Trump voters of hypocrisy for opposing the Chrysler bailout and supporting the “bailout” of Carrier.

Is it necessary to point out the differences between the illegal purchase/seizure of Chrysler and the Carrier “deal”?

Williamson has gone ‘round the bend. He should be a pariah.

I will be shocked if NR is still being published on dead trees in two years, and if it survives on the internet much longer.

I remember looking forward to every issue in the 80s.

A few days after Trump won the nomination, I was banned from NRO for pointing out that either Hillary or Trump would be the next President, and NO CONSERVATIVE could accept Hillary.

When National Review bans a person for saying Hillary was intolerable...well, they sure as heck have ZERO to do with conservatism. And the entire website is filled with pajama-boy rantings of NE socialites - emphasis on “light”.

French and Williamson have become parodies, though neither has the sense to see it.

You want people to be required to get a PERMIT from the GOVERNMENT at a fee to exercise their first amendment rights? Did you think that out before posting?

Williamson had an article about cops a couple of years ago. They’re not good people. He pointed out some truths.

That high-pitched grinding sound you hear is William F. Buckley drilling his way out of the grave

When I need to refresh my soul, I find one of the most soothing things is to read something written by WFB. Here is an example:

Soon after his election I was asked by the Philadelphia Society to speak on the theme, “Is President Reagan doing all that can be done?” It was a coincidence that my wife, Pat, and I had spent the weekend before the Philadelphia speech as guests of the President and Mrs. Reagan in Barbados.

I recalled with delight an exchange I had with my host on the presidential helicopter. We were flying to our villa the first evening, before the two days on Easter weekend reserved for bacchanalian sunning and swimming on the beach in front of Claudette Colbert’s house. I leaned over and told him I had heard the rumor that the Secret Service was going to deny him permission to swim on that beach on the grounds that it was insufficiently secure. I asked him whether that were so, that he wouldn’t be allowed in the water. Helicopters, even Air Force One helicopters, are pretty noisy, but I was able to make out what he said. It was, “Well, Bill, Nancy here tells me I’m the most powerful man in the Free World. If she’s right, then I will swim tomorrow with you.”

Which indeed he did. I recall also that during one of our swims I said to him, “Mr. President, would you like to earn the National Review Medal of Freedom?” He confessed to being curious as to how he would qualify to do this. I explained: “I will proceed to almost drown, and you will rescue me.” We went through the motions, and that evening I conferred that medal on him, in pectore.

From - Buckley, William F.. A Torch Kept Lit: Great Lives of the Twentieth Century (p. 48).

This is a plum-pudding-cake of writing. Rich, spicy, fruity, an pungent smothered with a creamy, brandy hard-sauce. Tell me which word you would leave out of that story. Now that you know the story write it down in your own words and see how much longer it is. It's like Twain wrote about William Dean Howells - his writing is like a valise packed by a woman. You can get everything out, but you cannot figure out how to get it all back in again.

Compare that to this juvenile screed:

the American public has made a grave error in entrusting its highest office to this cast of American Psycho extras. That a major political party was captured by these cretins suggests that its members are not worthy of the blessings of this republic..

That Trump is a psychopath is the latest meme going about. I had to listen to it all through my Christmas dinner. I thought it was a product of the left. Now I see that it is a slander from the right-wing of the uniparty.

Random factoid:

“Uday is pig Latin for “DU”.

Isn’t Williamson the one who also wrote especially despicably about Trump supporters? I know NR is known for its Trump Haters...but KW absolutely despised Trump Voters as well. I can’t remember exactly how he spoke of us/the words he used, but I do remember it was equally as EVIL.

Isn’t that “mass hari-kari” at National Review EXACTLY what we are now witnessing?

Good riddance, too.

National Review Online will be a skeleton crew only

I remember reading National Review Online 20 years ago when it was just Jonah Goldberg and his couch. The quality was much higher then.

This guy Kevin Williamson is completely out of line. In March of this year he wrote a highly critized article that disfunctional rural communities deserve to die, and now this article comparing Eric and Donald Trump to Uday as and Qusay! Williamson is still writing at NRO, so he must have the support of the Editors.

The Editors at National Review had no problem kicking to the curb Ann Coulter, John Derbyshire, and Mark Steyn. Yet they cling to this guy Williamson! I have joined the many others who will no longer support the National Review in any way.
