They don’t need to be prosecuted for a crime to be handed over to family services. They are still minors, and can be made wards of the state.

The Democrats are always doing it “for the children”.

Hey, and NOW they can do it TO the children.

Because nothing says “I love you” like letting children get aids?

Jeff Chandler posted that it’s a step towards legalization of pederasty. Unfortunately, I assume he’s correct.

Imagine, a state full of boys and girls spending 10 years or more pursuing lucrative careers that suddenly and inexplicably become illegal simply because they turn 18 years of age. California isn’t as progressive as it thinks it is!

Yes, erosion of morality, for the US the destruction of Judeo-Christian morality. The ‘Progressive Left’ i.e. the American Communist Party has had that as one of their goals since it was established and we see it taught in today’s colleges and lower schools.

What’s been happening is that these girls get arrested, they get thrown in with adults, and then law enforcement often hands them right back to their pimps/captors when they make bail.

See, the way law enforcement works is if a girl gets kidnapped and raped by one man then maybe she’s a victim.

But if a girl gets kidnapped and then raped by five hundred men she’s a whore.

This law addresses the problem but I expect it will take more than a few lawsuits before the cops stop arresting kidnap/rape victims for prostitution.

If age of consent laws are not repealed then how does someone underage legally consent to being a prostitute?

Even if they pimp themselves out they can’t legally consent to doing it and they need to be placed in protective custody to get help, not placed in jail with adults who will assault the child even more.

Based on the excerpt, the responses are justified. Perhaps the OP could have included the text of SB 1322 to provide better context. And there’s also the factor of unintended consequences.

I reviewed the text of the bill last night and noticed a disconnect between it and this article. But I’m not confident the best interest of minors is being served by the new legislation. It appears to handicap law enforcement in a way that is NOT favorable to minors.

Told you all this was on the agenda of the gay mafia a couple of years ago immediately after the SCOTUS found GAY MARRIAGE right next to the ABORTION clause in the US Constitution. Next up will be legalizing pedophilia and striking down state prostitution laws nationwide.

DemonRATS should be free to do whatever they want, and especially since Trump will be destroying America in the next four years. /s

Man charged after teen found dead in Markham garage

How about we charge California with statutory rape?

Misleading headline, pimping and having sex with minors is still illegal.

The minors themselves can no longer be arrested, and I honestly ask, should they be? Aren’t most victims?

The California law would be changed to match the Texas law regarding minors. As you know, Texas isn’t a liberal state.

This article explains the Texas Supreme Court reasoning on Child Prostitution: https://www.texastribune.org/2010/06/18/texas-supreme-court-rules-on-child-prostitutes/

“Children are the victims, not the perpetrators, of child prostitution,” the Texas Supreme Court said today when it ruled that children under the age of consent can’t be charged with selling sex.”

Men who pay child prostitutes are committing a crime in California and Texas. No law changes regarding that.

This will increase underage sex trafficking from both directions. The pimps will pimp underage kids without fear and traffickers will fall over themselves to supply the pimps.

Does anyone still doubt Pizzagate?
