Today at 9:30 am, senior U.S. intelligence officials face questions at a Senate hearing that will be dominated by the intelligence community's assessment that Russia meddled in the presidential election to help Donald Trump win. Participating will be James R. Clapper, Jr., Director Of National Intelligence. Marcel J. Lettre II, Under Secretary Of Defense For Intelligence and Admiral Michael S. Rogers, USN, Commander, United States Cyber Command.
The Armed Services Committee's cyber threats hearing on Thursday comes a day before the president-elect is to be briefed by the CIA and FBI directors — along with the director of national intelligence — on the investigation into Russia's alleged hacking efforts. Trump has been deeply critical of their findings, even appearing to back controversial WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's contention that Russia did not provide him with hacked Democratic emails.
The committee's session is the first in a series aimed at investigating purported Russian cyber-attacks against U.S. interests and developing defenses sturdy enough to blunt future intrusions. "We will obviously be talking about the hacking, but the main thing is the whole issue of cybersecurity," the committee's Republican chairman, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, said ahead of the hearing. "Right now we have no policy, no strategy to counter cyberattacks."
More importantly, however, the hearing comes hours after Reuters reported overnight that U.S. intelligence agencies obtained what they considered to be conclusive evidence after the November election that Russia provided hacked material from the Democratic National Committee to WikiLeaks. However, in the latest change of the narrative, this time the allegation is that Russia provided the hacked data through a third party, three U.S. officials said on Wednesday.

Moreover, as you will notice, like the good trial lawyers they are, Democrats have very successfully removed ANY and ALL discussion of the actual contents of the emails with how they might have been hacked!
BTW, I seem to recall last summer that media was saying:
1. Everybody spies on each other & at least 5 countries hacked Hillary’s emails, so how do they know it was Russians who had impact?
2. We spy on everybody too.
Narrative sure has changed...As you say, the CONTENT of those emails is being totally ignored.
I would add that had she not tried to circumvent the govt. rules by having an unsecured server in a bathroom and if she did not have a moron campaign director who had the word “Password” as his password, she would not have been so easy to hack.
I sure am glad Trump is going to clean house at CIA, FBI, etc.

Not unlike 99% of other hearings on Capitol Hill which are just done for the sake of political theater.
Scrambling by those in charge to cover their butts when their allegations become unprovable. The whole thing is now a giant mess created by the Obama administration and it is now falling apart before their eyes.
Can Americans trust any agency that the head was appointed by Obama?
The hearing I’m watching is a joke.
Everything so far is "in my opinion". No presentation of any facts in the form of physical evidence, which there should be plenty of in the form of logs and screen captures.
With McCain as head of the committee is a joke.
Hard to imagine what proof Clapper could provide, unless he now has an IP address for either the "hack" or the "leak" (of DNC or Podesta email) that originated from a confirmed Russian state source ... or from a confirmed "cut-out" used by the Russian state.
One possibility the MSM isn't willing to consider is that the Russians --among many others-- did indeed "hack" the DNC's email ... but that they had nothing to do with "leaking" the material to WikiLeaks. I.e., the possibility that the person who gave the material to WikiLeaks might have been a DNC insider.

Bottom line....sources from inside the CIA have been leaking to the media. That’s unacceptable and I’d think a crime.
I thought nobama told Americans our security measures could NO BE hacked. So what happened. Was our ??? president telling us the truth or was it another of his lies?

Sorry Charlie, but Julian the Hero Assange, stated in the Hannity interview that he is the only person on the planet that knows how the leak occurred........that can only mean you are dead. Just think about that one for awhile. Lol.
