Not only should they not be excused, but they deserve the very Harshest Punishment available under the Law, precisely because of their (celebrity) status affording them an ability to shape public opinion the Average Citizen does not possess.
For the same reason that Hillary Clinton was allowed to run for the presidency instead of going to prison:
One set of rules for Leftist Elites, another slightly harsher set for Leftist Rank-and-Filers, and a third set for the rest of us.
I fear what will happen is that one of the left’s celebrity “star” will inspire a lone wolf attack on the administration. Trump runs the DOJ now, it’s time to move in on the left and their acts of sedition.
