In a deployment not seen in seven years, three Chinese warships including a guided-missile destroyer warship embarked on a tour of Gulf Arab states for the first time since 2010 in what al Arabiya has called Beijing's "desire to play a bigger role on the global stage."
The three Chinese vessels arrived in Qatars capital Doha on Saturday following a visit to the Saudi port city of Jeddah, according to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.
While Chinas navy regularly tours the world and its ships patrol off the coasts of Yemen and Somalia as part of international anti-piracy operations, such visits to Gulf Arab states, where both the U.S. and Britain have naval bases, are less common. In 2014, China's navy visited Iran for the first time to take part in joint naval exercises with Saudi Arabias regional arch-rival.

Feeling their oats
Wow!!!!! This hasn’t happened since ... since Obama was president!!
I think they should take over the Middle East the same way they rule over Tibet. There are millions in the PLA that can keep the lid on. It may be worth the oil to make the area stable.
Well we know the ChiComs know how to subjugate a restive region. They just kill them all. Kind of like the Russians do but with more troops at hand.
China is the only future for those barbarians. No one elese has any use for them.
China the kings of the East making moves
We don’t need the oil, so let them fight the European countries for it.
“Now, on the matter of the South China Sea you say is all yours...and retain the right to award passage...we have a problem”.
I bet the iranian motorboats won’t screw with them like they did with Obunghole’s toothless navy.
Feeling their rice does not quite have the same impact.
Just testing out their new ports in Pakistan and Djibouti.
They’ll soon do the same in Mexico, Panama, and Venezuela.
