"maybe" consider quitting or retiring after Donald Trump

Problem is that a significant fraction of them have no transferable skills, and those who do (computer types, etc) won't find a comparable compensation package for what they do in the private sector.

SS is a retirement fu7nd, paid into by employees and employers. The government takes it, puts it in general funds and eke’s out a pittance to the eligible payees. Stop the fraud. Give me my money back.

I’d bet at least 50% of government “workers” do absolutely nothing that benefits this society in any way. Going through life as a parasite is nothing to be proud of.

I believe he can fire them if they are countering his orders.

Federal workers living in Northern VA need to be reassigned to Frederick, Maryland (and vice-versa).

Make them spend half the day in traffic, and you cut the damage in half.

The issue is the GOPe congress not backing him up.

That’s his biggest challenge.

Yes, sign an order refusing to collect due for the union.

Congress passed a law that allows this, but I don’t think it’s actually REQUIRED by law.

Mine’s a pittance because I got sick 10 years ago and had to take out a lot of money.

Thank goodness the wife has a nice little pile that by 65 (she’s 48) will be a huge help.

I’m also working again now for a while (out for 6 years) and putting in again.

I can always sell my body, but only if they’re paying by the pound :)

That is the #1 issue of our time.

Sadly, in my view, the only way to root-out the “Shadow Government” is through armed rebellion. The Federal Leviathan will never peacefully relinquish its unlimited, money-is-no-object power.

“The Holman Rule is the thermonuclear weapon in slashing the size and employment of the bureaucracy.”

That’s valuable information. It allows citizens to investigate federal bureaucracies for illegal and questionable actions, and then inform the district congress critter of those bureaucrat deficiencies. Time to get the cameras out.

Sorry.
Look up “Nestor vs. Flemming.”
Social Security is an entitlement with a tax tacked on to it and can be taken away at the government’s whim.
At 56, I’m kinda fond of of the idea of SS, but I don’t know if it will be there when I’m 67 or whatever the age is.

How about saving SS for the people who actually paid into it. I know that you only have to work part time for a few years to get a benefit for the rest of your life. So called 'disabled' get benefits because of their parents, or because they claim disability. (Remember the adult 'baby' who claimed he was disabled so he could play baby) SS should be reserved for someone who worked a minimum of 20 years full time, or 30 years part time and their spouse.

Also Medicaid. People have medicaid taken out of their full paychecks for decades to pay for their health insurance when they turn 65. But who gets medicaid? Apparently everybody who happens to be in the US, citizen or not, work history or no, who claims to be 65.

Actuarially the way to solve the problem is to do two things. First, raise the retirement age one month every two years. Second, take the cap off the tax paid into Social Security. Problem solved.

Trump could just do away with the govt employee unions and solve a lot of problems.

There is no way that Trump can average $1 trillion per year in spending reductions without deep cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and other mandatory spending from the very start.

"The federal government devotes roughly one-sixth of its spending to 10 major means-tested programs and tax credits, which provide cash payments or assistance in obtaining health care, food, housing, or education to people with relatively low income or few assets."

As of Fiscal Year 2011 total spending on those programs reached close to $1 trillion

One thing Trump could do immediately, is take all those programs, currently scattered among various agencies, and bring them all under one roof. Then fire the federal employees thus shown to be redundant.

We need to abolish civil service and restore the spoils system.

Spoils systems = Republicans have those jobs under a Republican President, democrats have those jobs under a dem president

Civil service = democrats have those jobs, period.

Reformers in the late 19th Century were well intentioned but did not foresee big labor and it’s malicious partisanship.

Decertify and abolish public sector unions and we have a defunded democrat party. These unions are nothing more than a tax payers supported money laundering scam. 90+ % of political donations go to democrat politicians.
