After months of talk during the presidential campaign and in the lead up to his inauguration, Donald Trump appears set to take action on his promises to build a wall on the US-Mexico border and to expel immigrants in the US illegally.
Sources told Reuters that Trump would begin issuing orders on Wednesday, likely directing the construction of the border wall and other actions to track down and deport undocumented immigrants.
As a part of the immigration and border measures, Trump is expected to propose the hiring of 5,000 more US border agents and call for local law enforcement agencies to work with federal immigration authorities.
The latter step could mean raids on workplaces and homes and dividing families already in the US.
The reports of imminent action on Trump's border and immigration plans have spurred backlash in Mexico — not only at Trump and not only for his continued insistence that Mexico will pay for the wall.
Mexico's economy minister and newly appointed foreign minister are slated to meet with members of Trump's team — including advisers Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner and National Security Adviser Michael Flynn — in Washington on Wednesday and Thursday, and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto is to visit the US on January 31 to meet with Trump.
Accordingly, Mexicans have called on their government to cancel these meetings and send a message to the Trump administration that it will not kowtow to what is seen as bullying.
Peña Nieto and Luis Videgaray — the foreign minister who, as finance minister, arranged Trump's controversial meeting with the Mexican president in late August — have also been singled out for derision and exhortations.

It's been a long time coming, and that's why the lily-white Mexican elite desperately want as many mestizos and indigenous Mexicans to go to the US, to take the pressure off of them.
I just passed through a Customs and Border patrol checkpoints in Yuma, Tombstone, and El Paso all of which I took note of the temporary DOT style lighted signs announcing applications being accepted for new agents.
No need. Just transfer the 50,000 new IRS AGENTS OBAMA HIRED TO OVERSEE OBAMACARE......................
I suppose that if they don’t like what we are doing, then they can just pound salt.
It’s not like we ever lost a war to Mexico.
We should never have given them back anything at the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, then we wouldn’t have a Mexico to worry about.
Pena Nieto cancelled his trip....announced a short while ago.
Imagine millions of trained and educated Mexicans returning to their homeland and fixing their own infrastructure, their government as well as healing their own people and teaching their own children. It would be a renaissance unlike any other we’ve ever seen.

Trouble it is illegal to protest against the government in Mexico. A bunch of students at a university, in Mexico City I think, tried that about 20 years ago. The Federales came in and machine gunned them.
Stupid, we’ll still build the fence and we’ll still trash NAFTA. There is very little American product going to Mexico and oodles coming this way. Imports to Mexico are taxed 15% but they bring it here for free.
NAFTA isn’t FREE trade for the US.
Just a few years ago they killed about 24 of them.
That may be true but these people have been living under a decent government for decades. If they take their knowledge and skills home with them there could be significant changes coming Mexico’s way. I know the govt is corrupt but the will of the people may be able to overcome it if they challenge their govt like they protest ours when things don’t go their way.
It's still happening there today. Funny how nobody points these things out about Meh-Hee-Co.

It’s not just the Mexicans - the MSM and the Dem party in general seem to feel the same way.
It’s like Trump discussing water-boarding last night. The reporter was trying to paint Trump as some heartless psycho: “Are you REALLY in favor of torture (water-boarding)”?
To which Trump makes the perfect response - “They are cutting off heads!”.
