California Secretary of State Alex Padilla announced Thursday that a ballot initiative called “California Nation” has been approved by the state to begin collecting signatures to qualify for the 2018 ballot. The effort is supported by the “Yes California” campaign, an organization that enjoys the support of the Russian government and whose founder, Louis Marinelli, now lives in Russia.

So, how does this (does this) affect the State of Jefferson? Seems to me that it really legitimizes their efforts too. Double edged swords and all that.
You know, this might work out. Maybe we can get everyone who admires the California “Lifestyle” to move there! Illegally, of course.
California companies and their employees would leave the state in droves (in addition to those who have already left). It would be an economic disaster of epic proportions.
The dreams of a liberal utopia would quickly turn into a nightmare. But if they want to leave, I’m all for it!

Beg to differ with you. I live out here and can tell you we already are broke. But, I get your point. The state would be unable to function without federal funds.
I would be so happy if California exited the union. Would make America much more sane!
Is signing the ballot just for Californicate residents, or can residents from other states sign the ballot for Californicate to leave?
What Trump should do is say that he supports the CalExit plan and that in response he is giving California back to Mexico.
I would expect a break away California to quickly resemble Argentina under Peron
