Republican Sen. Tom Cotton suggested Republicans should literally force Democrats to vote on President Trump’s nominees Tuesday, by ordering the sergeant at arms to “haul” them into the committee room.
“I don’t know how long they plan to do this,” Cotton said on the Senate floor, after Democrats began a “boycott” of committee-level votes on several of Trump’s nominees. “I don’t know if they intend to abscond out of the District, if we’re going to have to vote to have the sergeant at arms track them down, haul them to work to do their business.”
The sergeant at arms takes orders from the Senate majority leader, currently Republican Mitch McConnell, who has the authority to enforce a quorum call. If Republicans agree to support the move, McConnell could order the sergeant at arms to physically bring Democrats into the room for a vote, although the move is somewhat unlikely.
Nevertheless, Cotton remarked on the sergeant at arms standing in the chamber: “He has a distinguished record in military and law enforcement. He could probably do that effectively.”
I asked the same earlier today.
That though crossed my mind also. Just club 1 over the head. Toss him thru the doors. Present.

Texas Dems fled the state a few years ago in order to avoid voting.

They only need to haul one Democrat in I believe; any one. They should set up a raffle to let voters pick which one, help balance the budget.

All of this activity is sedition...why isn’t more being done when it is obvious that there is an active movement by democrats and the press to overthrow an American president? I don’t understand.
Not a good idea. As a lover of freedom, I don’t like to see any use of force — even to get people to do what they should do in the first place.
Check their paperwork when the return to Federal jurisdiction.

Joe Manchin. Pictures/video of him being dragged into the Senate by his hair and forced to do his job would do wonders for his re-election bid.
why is it that most Republicans rubber-stamp D presidential nominations most of the time, saying that “a president is entitled to the staff he wants”
whereas nowadays it seems many D’s refuse to even vote one way or the other, seeking only to make a scene and disrupt the normal processes of our representative system of governance

I was watching on C-Span earlier, they were talking about Tillerman...talk about a bunch of idiots, they were all Dems and not one of them had anything good to say about Tillerman because of his ties with Russia and Exxon Oil..
You can tell they are not ‘real business’ people because they have NO IDEA what it takes to get a business of the ground and keep it that way...

They should announce they will forcibly place them to vote, and then they will run. That would not work out well for the Dems PR wise. When they don’t show, they should not have the vote, force the entire Senate to recess for 1 hour. Trump will recess appoint 1 person only, then give them another 24 hours to change their minds. Make it a big story. Let it suck up the oxygen on the immigration ban BS.
I will say this much. The dems are willing to fight. So is Trump. The GOP Senate better be willing to do the same.
Oh come on. Save the talk of sedition for actual sedition. Like someone else said, this is childish ... but it isn't seditious.
Look, Senate Democrats are members of the independent legislative branch. If you truly care about separation of powers, you understand that the legislative branch is co-equal to the executive branch. Yes, it throws a wrench into President Trump's plans. It is childish, but let the country see them acting like children.
It’s not just this...it’s the incitement to riot by Obama, the threats that seem to go unchallenged, the violence in the streets. It’s everything the left is doing.
