(full article title: Police: 5 charged after throwing water balloons at 'a bunch of liberals' outside Lindsey Graham's Lowcountry office)
It all started with a green water balloon.
Now, five teens three 18-year-olds and two 17-year-olds face misdemeanor charges of malicious mischief after Mount Pleasant police say they threw water balloons at protesters Monday afternoon.
According to an incident report from the Mount Pleasant Police Department, a green object was tossed from a passenger window of a gold Ford F-150 truck and hit a woman who was protesting outside of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham's Mount Pleasant office, 530 Johnnie Dodds Blvd.
Martha Rhodes, 41, said she was one of the protesters hit by a water balloon. At the time, Rhodes said she was holding a sign that read "Bigotry destroys democracy."
"I didn't honestly realize it was a water balloon." Rhodes said Tuesday. "I was a little bit shaken up. One of my concerns has been the normalization of behavior that we wouldn't have found acceptable until now."
As officers were trying to see if anyone else was hit by balloons at the Monday protest, they reportedly heard sounds of water balloons breaking in the area. (snip)
officers asked one of them what they were thinking when they threw water balloons at protesters.
An 18-year-old responded he "threw water balloons at a bunch of liberals."

My only question is why were liberals protesting their boy Lindsey Graham?
Water can be considered a dangerous weapon to a filthy, smelly lefty. Especially clean water. Or even worse, soapy water.
Water balloons tossed at Liberals, lock em up!
Fists thrown at Conservatives knocking them out, eh, we didn’t see it.
Man, something is dead wrong with the optics of these events.
Seriously? They got in trouble for water balloons? Did anyone get in trouble for knocking out the Trump supporter? For throwing things at those going to the Deporaball?
Sorry kids, you have to face the music.
I'll bet Lindsey cried when he heard about this.
If this was my kid id act mad when I picked him up from the police station... maybe even pull him out by his ear lobe. but once I got in the car id start laughing and give him a fist bump...than flip a 20 spot and tell him to go on and play...
I’m a good Dad!!
First of all, why are liberals protesting Graham?
Second, a liberal is complaining about people out of control?
Third, we used to throw water balloons every Holloween and the cops never did a thing. It was expected every Holloween.
Look what it did to the Wicked Witch of the West.
She didn’t melt?
Teenagers throwing water balloons? What is this world coming to? At least the folks didn’t detonate in the crowd.
Seriously??? What about behavior like -- setting some poor guys limo on fire and injuring the driver in the process, breaking plate-glass windows, trashing entire blocks by dumping disgusting 'protest' signs, sucker-punching, screaming obscenities, forming cordons to refuse people entry to an event, and on-and-on and on
Not to mention the sore-losers tantrum-throwers in Congress
There’s somebody in South Carolina more liberal than Graham? Must have just unpacked.
Water balloons get publicity, beatings of Trump supporters don’t.
BLM will now justifiably loot and burn the town for the vicious arrests and violation of rights of these exuberant, saintly, oppressed African American youth.
Oh, wait ....
I should have been given a life sentence before I was 15.
funny isn’t it??
They clearly need a GoFundMe site started for their defense.
Maybe the lobs needed a bath, and Nancy and McWeasel didn’t invite them into the hot tub to bob for apples
Kid should have said: “They looked thirsty from all that yelling.”
