WASHINGTON (Reuters) - About 900 U.S. State Department officials signed an internal dissent memo protesting a travel ban by U.S. President Donald Trump on refugees and travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries, a source familiar with the document said on Tuesday, in a rebellion against the new president's policies.

A senior State Department official confirmed the memorandum had been submitted to acting Secretary of State Tom Shannon through the department's "dissent channel," a process in which officials can express unhappiness over policy (http://bit.ly/2jOYW0y).

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said on Monday he was aware of the memo but warned career diplomats that they should either "get with the program or they can go."

A draft of the dissent memo seen by Reuters argued that the executive order would sour relations with affected countries, inflame anti-American sentiment and hurt those who sought to visit the United Spates for humanitarian reasons.

It said the policy "runs counter to core American values of non-discrimination, fair play and extending a warm welcome to foreign visitors and immigrants.

Trump on Friday signed an executive order that temporarily bans refugees and people from seven Muslim-majority countries, sparking tumult at U.S. airports and protests in major American cities.

“Every Obama era appointee in every department should have been fired by now.”
___

It’s a refreshingly simple yet effective solution to a swampy problem.

I was listening to this same tripe on NPR this morning. It appears the #hivemind has been given their talking points for the near future. It’s practically all they talk about.

Thing is, what he did was appropriate and it is nothing unusual at all, under the circumstances.

We are being gaslighted.

Ah, 900 names.

Makes it so easy to fire their marshmallow major liberals arts asses.

Starbucks will have to hire slightly fewer “refugees” in order to provide the only other jobs State Department losers are qualified for.

The curious thing is that once they get the termination notice, and figure out that there are no more gov’t jobs in DC to apply to...what’s left?

Maybe some foundation work, or NPR for a brief time, or maybe some college lecture work for the more qualified folks. But then what? The rest get shipped out to colleges across the nation and find that only a few have openings for them. A lot of these people will end up as high school teachers in Texas or Nevada. I think they will be shocked at the value of their service time, and how there’s no real future for them at all.

What balls to think the President works for them.

Can them all. That will shake their liberal asses up.They will only drag their feet and do crappy work when and if they do.
They will be nothing but problems going forward.

I am sure USAJobs.org has plenty of resumes on file for good people.

I think tomorrow’s headline should be, “900 Vacancies in the State Department need to be filled.”
