The Boy Scouts of America, or BSA, used to be derided as a "traditional, values-based" organization, whose oath spoke of a "duty to God" and whose law insisted the Scouts be "reverent." Now the BSA worships something else: corporate donations. It should have been expected after it folded on homosexual Scouts and then on homosexual scoutmasters.
Within a month of being pressured by the case of 8-year-old Joe Maldonado, who was born a girl named Jodi Maldonado, the BSA folded on God and how he "made them male and female." In today's culture, the secular left lets man overrule God. This cowardly shell of an organization should just scrap the references to God, and every God-respecting church should jettison their Boy Scout units to the nearest secular gathering place.
The statement acknowledged that for many years, the organization employed common sense. It said: "For more than 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America, along with schools, youth sports and other youth organizations, have ultimately deferred to the information on an individual's birth certificate to determine eligibility for our single-gender programs."
But it's a new day, and biological reality is no longer relevant. What Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI called the "dictatorship of relativism" has overruled tradition. The organization continued, saying: "However, that approach is no longer sufficient as communities and state laws are interpreting gender identity differently, and these laws vary widely from state to state. Starting today, we will accept and register youth in the Cub and Boy Scout programs based on the gender identity indicated on the application."
This was a joyous occasion for otherwise-depressed libertine leftists at the dawn of President Trump's administration. Singer Miley Cyrus found her happy place with this news. In a post on her Instagram, she said: "Let there be LIGHT!!!! There is so much devastating information filling our brain lately. ... We ARE moving forward! We'll never stop standing up for what is right! Change is here! We just have to create it!" Another former Disney Channel star, Joe Jonas, seconded that emotion, saying: "I was a Boy Scout growing up. Hearing the news today makes me proud."
Homosexual celebrity lobbyists were delighted. "Welcoming Transgender Boy Scouts -- I'd say the Boy Scouts have come a long way baby," tweeted Martina Navratilova. "I call this progress," added Ellen DeGeneres.
Then came the lightning bolts from the newspapers. The Washington Post editorial board welcomed this reform and hopes the reaction to it will show maturity and not dissent. It said: "The Scouts' relatively quick and decisive move on the transgender issue came more easily and quickly than previous reforms. The Boy Scouts appear to have decided to rely on the goodwill of their participants to accept the decision with the maturity the organization preaches to Scouts."
The New York Times editorial board, which has applied Jim Crow segregationist logic toward anyone who would deny the widest berth to gender fluidity, doubled down on being science deniers, saying: "The Boy Scouts are recognizing transgender boys for what they genuinely are: boys. This extends the organization's values and programs to a wider pool. It also may help a new generation of Americans think more rationally and compassionately about gender identity."
Perhaps the next "reform" might be an 11-year-old Boy Scout declaring that he identifies as an Eagle Scout, negating the need for any stinking merit badges or review boards. Since relativism is king, who needs to earn or learn anything these days? Apparently the mission of all community organizations must be centered on "inclusion" and "welcoming," and everything else trails far behind.

Natural laws learned over thousands of years were mocked, ridiculed, overturned, and even outlawed. Toward the end, homosexual drill sergeants prowled the barracks grooming receptive teenage recruits. Hey, we were told, it’s their business, and who are you to judge them? Later, they could get married in the post-interfaith worship center by a military spiritual advisor (“chapels” and “chaplains” having been purged from the lexicon for favoring the Christian faiths) and then move on to adopting children.
And finally, the last old-guard bunker to fall: the Boy Scouts, completing the cycle of government-approved sodomite corruption. For a century the Scouts were morally straight? According to whose definition of straight? So why shouldn’t adult homosexual Scout leaders share tents with teenagers in our brave new world? Don’t be a homophobe, we were told. Each child can make his or her own free choice about their gender identity, but now with helpful adult mentors to guide them along the formerly forbidden paths.
If it feels good, do it. Or have it done to you. Or even do it unto the little children. Tommy wants to become Tomasina before heading to kindergarten? Her brave new mommy agrees? A government-provided surgeon will perform the “gender reassignment” operation. And if kindergarten isn’t soon enough to put the kids on the unrepressed road to gender identification, then start them on Heather Has Two Mommies and Prince and Prince cartoon books in the government-subsidized day care centers.
Smiling experts assured us that we were merely throwing off the shackles of our repressed sexualities. Dissent is hate, and hate is not tolerated around here, mister, so shut up and get with the program. Well, I couldn’t get with the program, so I quit my public high school job. As a world history teacher, moving from a public school to a Christian academy (at less pay and fewer benefits) gave me a couple more years of insulation from the social wreckage cascading down.
I kept looking up for the big asteroid, but we didn’t need God to smite us from outer space. In the end, we smote ourselves with our hubris, believing that we were replacing God’s wisdom with our own. The proud decadence and in-your-face cultural perversions didn’t cause the Rupture, but they were surely flashing red signs warning that the end was near.

Why hasn’t the Southern Baptist Convention cut this group loose and told them to start meeting at Starbucks instead of on church property?
Because mainline religions were all infiltrated by Cultural Marxists in 1930s and the leaders now are all hanging out at Comet Pizza and “loving” it.
We need to take back the minds of our children and not allow strangers and the Marxists (Common Core/Hollywood/music) to shape their worldview and desires. They will warp all perceptions of male and female if you allow them to “see” and hear their cr*-.....it is embedded with ideological subversion so that when Objective Truth is heard they will just experience “cognitive dissonance” and emotions will always rule Reason. Nostalgia will be attached to satanism.

It’s genderist to have Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Combine the two and call them Progressive Youth.

I agree. They should disband as gender-centric, and unite. Youth Scouts or something. But then you will have snowflakes in their 20s, who consider it a microaggression that they are not eligible to join.
BSA extends age throught e Explorers, so we could have Progressive Action Corps for the 20 somethings.
Look at the Theorore M Kennedy Youth Training Act (or something close) , we already have a Fed level program sketched out legally, no need for private paramilitary elite youth groups.
Isn’t it 90+% of gays, in double blind studies, that admit they were molested by a male friend or relative, when they were young? Thereby imprinting the homosexual lifestyle on them before puberty? That number will skyrocket.
Because the BSA is still a fantastic teacher of skills and leadership development.
The Baptist church lacks the ability to teach those skills. Several Baptist churches have abandoned their troops and the boys are worse off for it
I know, I know many think the ersatz organizations developed to replace the BAS are a remedy, but they are a flimsy excuse.
Leadership development? You aren’t serious are you? Let your son learn their style of “leadership.” My grandsons will learn it from those who know its meaning and not from those who dance for a few pieces of silver.
Will they offer a gender-fluids merit badge?
Most homosexuals were sexually molested as children.

It is sad that so many boys will not have the same experience I had in Boy Scouts and similarly the wonderful time my son had. BSA is in its final days. Makes me sad.

Let’s see, when I made Eagle Scout back in 1960: The Scout Oath as recited went: “On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty, to God and my Country, to obey the Scout Law, to help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight”. The Scout Law: “ A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent”. The Scout Motto was: “Do a good turn daily”. We learned to instinctively honor these points as moral standards and values to live by. The Scouts had nothing to do with anything else back then. I cry to see what it, and the Nation, has become.
There are other groups to replace the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
