Donald Trump's most bone-chilling tweet
CNN ^ | February 4, 2017 | Dean Obeidallah

On Saturday morning, President Donald Trump may have unleashed his most bone-chilling tweet -- at least to those who believe the United States should not become a Trump-led dictatorship. And I don't make that comment simply to be provocative or without giving it a great deal of thought. Our democracy is far more fragile than some might grasp and Trump is engaging in a concerned effort to undermine the workings of it.

Here is Trump's truly jaw-dropping tweet from Saturday morning: "The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law-enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned!"

Why is this so concerning? It's OK to argue about whether the judge should or shouldn't have issued this order. But Trump is apparently attempting to delegitimize our federal judiciary by calling Judge James Robart, a George W. Bush-appointed judge, a "so-called" judge while arguing that his decision is "ridiculous."

Let's be blunt, because the stakes demand it: An independent federal judiciary is our last, best hope at preventing Trump from violating the US Constitution and illegally grabbing power. And Trump has to understand that, hence his attempt to undermine it.

Didn’t chill me a bit. Some nut judge gets to stop a foreign policy of the president?

This is nuts. Trump should have ignored it as did Jefferson. Trump’s duty is to Americans, not some crappy judged in Washington state.

Sounds good to me. Go, Trump! Don’t let the b*****s grind you down.

It's more hyperbole, faux outrage and concern trolling from the media.

No one should think these judges are shielded from criticism any more than any other branch of government.

I find it bone-chilling that an appointed judge in Seattle can stop vetting and immigration officials in New York and Texas for no real reason other than PC politics.

I find it bone-chilling that the Obama DOJ intentionally lied to a Federal Judge and intentionally disregarded his specific orders in Texas about immigration issues in the State of Texas. These liberal pukes didn’t say a peep about that.

What’s bone chilling is that the rule of law and the consent of the governed have been absolutely usurped by lawyers.

An independent federal judiciary is our last, best hope at preventing Trump from violating the US Constitution and illegally grabbing power.

The problem, Mr. CNN Snowflake, is that the judiciary hasn't been independent for a long time. Anyone reading the plain text of the applicable law can see that Trump had every right to do what he did. The judge who issued the ruling is actually the one who threatens the Constitution, by over stepping his authority.

So in this CNN writers opinion it’s perfectly fine to refer to Trump as an illegitimate president, but we should have a case of the vapors that Trump referred to the Judge as a “so called judge”

And God forbid Trump should have power. Why he’s just a so called President.

Not to mention it’s just wonderful when Pelosi refers to Judge Gorsuch as evil incarnate.
