Please read my post 40.

At the time of the shooting, the shooter didn’t know this guy’s record.

You can only go with what the circumstances were.

The shooter may have done the exact right thing. I don’t know.

I’m merely raising the things we each need to think about, when confronted with a situation like this,

"He claimed that I sideswiped him."

Dash cameras are required in many European countries and are a good idea in this country just for this reason.

This guy was headed for a life of crime.

This guy was already leading a life of crime. The Diaper Caper wasn't his first hit on the bong.

According to reports, the the good samaritan shooter said he felt threatened after the suspect moved quickly as if to arm himself.

So their defense will be that the suspect did not make a threatening move and the shooter did not feel threatened. Now, considering they were in a stolen vehicle, which had just been carjacked earlier, and were in the commission of crime, wheeling out two full carts of unpaid merchandise to their stolen getaway vehicle..

Based on what I am reading, I don’t think the best lawyer around will be able to concoct a reasonable excuse for these guys, nor will they be able to prove the good samaritan shooter did not feel threatened. JMO.

I think that makes sense.

It may play out just that way.

I have a vested interest in this being a good shooting. We all do.

This is a case ripe with potential to reflect poorly on CC holders if it goes South.

Btw, I prefer to call them traffic collisions. An accident would be a meteor striking your car or a tree falling on it.

99% of traffic collisions are no accident and are generally caused by neglect and or operating a vehicle in an unsafe manner. Oh, and intersections are death traps where green arrows and green lights mean very little. Most intersections would be ankle deep in blood if they never washed it off.

An accident is something you don’t do on purpose.

Yes, I’ve often thought of the clean-up service provided.

An accident is something you don’t do on purpose.

But according to you, since you didn't cause the collision, you did nothing intentional or wrong. The cause of the collision according to you, was vehicle #1 failed to yield to your legal left turn. Hence, it was no accident vehicle #1 failed to yield regardless if it was intentional, on purpose or not. The fact is, based on your scenario, vehicle #1 caused the collision not by "accident" but by neglect, unsafe driving etc.

chances are, no. Florida has extremely favorable gun laws for law abiding citizens. another point, the shooter could be black too so the racism sticker can’t be applied. (this was a predominantly black part of town)

outside a Pine Hills Wal-Mart
****************
In Orlando we refer to “Pine Hills” as “crime hills” ... The black community is up in arms about a police crackdown interfering with their bidness ,,, no pleasing them ,, some people there were petitioning for less crime and safer streets but they don’t want the criminals arrested.

You can’t leave the location out of this story... your alert level in that part of town is a factor.

The real question is where is the video. Every Wal Mart I have ever visited in bad area, even some in good areas have high mounted video cameras on parking lots.
Protection for Wal Mart against lawsuits

Exactly the same thing happened to me about 15 years ago. My insurance company ended up settling with the other guy’s company for a very small amount because it was more cost-effective to do so. Modern-day highway robbery.
