Meet Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch's ultra-liberal church St. John's Episcopal Church is led by a pastor who proudly attended the anti-Trump Women's March in Denver the day after the President's inauguration Rev. Susan Springer has said she is pro-gay marriage and offers blessings to same-sex couples Another member of the clergy is outspoken about the need for gun control The church's Rev. Ted Howard also signed a letter slamming the 'disrespectful rhetoric' directed at Islam as Trump floated a ban on Muslim immigrants Church authorities also appear to be strongly in favor of environmental initiatives and added solar panels to the roof because of 'climate crisis' If Gorsuch is confirmed, he will renew the Supreme Court's Christian majority and join as the only non-Catholic member

After hearing about how Gorsuch said that Pres. Trump’s comments were “demoralizing” and “disheartening.”, I think the positions of his Church need to be scrutinized.

This may not be what it appears to be. If it is true, I don’t care if he believes in a ‘progressive’ or even Satanic church, as long as he will be (as his reputation suggests) a strict Constitutionalist.

That being said, if there is any truth there, Team Trump will deal with it.

No but we were hopeful that his picks would be conservative. I have my doubts about him now.

Not true. I am a conservative cradle Episcopalian who attends a very liberal parish. There are several like minded folks in the parish. We can separate the leadership’s ideology from our desire to continue worshipping in a tradition we are use to.

If he’s not like Scalia, I don’t want him.

I think Trump was trying to get a very conservative pick. He went to Heritage Foundation and worked off their lists.

Everyone told him, this was the most conservative judge on the list.

It looks like the Judge was telling Trump one thing, then telling the DEMs another.

He needs to removed from consideration.

Yep. He must have a really sick warped worldview of males and females to belong to such a church which was one of the first to have homosexual pastors. It is NOT a Christian “church”, it is a Church of Satan. They embrace vice, mock God and God’s Design (science) and promote perversions to little children to destroy virtue formation.

They embrace the destruction of the Natural family and Natural Law Theory-—that which is fundamental to the Constitution and our “Justice” System.

He should never be confirmed unless he condemns that evil “church’ (worldview). It is no different than belonging to a mosque. Just as warped and satanic which mocks God and God’s Design of Man and Woman. He embraces denying babies their Natural Rights to a mother and father-—which is as dehumanizing and evil as you can get. Harms the children more than abortions, since they end up in the arms of God anyhow but children raised with homosexuals are corrupted with a satanic, unnatural, irrational worldview. He literally is for corrupting the worldview of little babies and denying them their Natural Rights which is unalienable and anti-Constitutional.

Is he a 33 degree mason? If so, he should never be allowed on the bench. They give their oath to Lucifer and are Fabian Socialists (lies and hides and waits in sheep’s clothing).

Scalia was a traditionist catholic. That informs his intellect and world view to some kind of degree. Impossible not to. This nominee... unthankful to some degree and should have kept his peace at the least. Should look deeper. Feinstein likes him so not sure how that can be totally good. Reserving judgement but need to dig more here

Is there no judge left in our country who can truly fill his shoes?

Judge Scalia so very missed. What a treasure we had in him.

I’m completely off the Gorsuch train unless I hear/see evidence that points to a strict interpretation of the constitution. Based on his church he seems like he is going to be very easily swayed to the “popular” positons

"Gorsuch lives in the Republic of Boulder and everybody thinks he is a conservative? really? Don’t believe it!"

You've been staring at too many red and blue maps. There are conservatives in Seattle and liberals in Mississippi. Far more troubling is his membership in that church.

“That really is troubling.

A conservative would never belong to such a church.”

Hmmm.

Yes, this is a red flag.

“His Reputation suggest” By the same people who said for 6 years that if given the chance they would immediately repeal and replace Obamacare. I don’t believe he is a strict constructionist. Prove it to me, he doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt.

Looks like he’s probably pro-abortion according to this article. I think they have some good points to back up their argument.

I know a few people like you, but his comments on Trump's tweet have exposed what side he's on.

Scalia:

Today’s decree says that my Ruler, and the Ruler of 320 million Americans coast-to-coast, is a majority of the nine lawyers on the Supreme Court.
and again Scalia:
what really astounds is the hubris reflected in today’s judicial Putsch
and again Scalia:
The opinion is couched in a style that is as pretentious as its content is egotistic.
and again Scalia:
Hubris is sometimes defined as o’erweening pride; and pride, we know, goeth before a fall. The Judiciary is the “least dangerous” of the federal branches because it has “neither Force nor Will, but merely judgment; and must ultimately depend upon the aid of the executive arm” and the States, “even for the efficacy of its judgments.” With each decision of ours that takes from the People a question properly left to them—with each decision that is unabashedly based not on law, but on the “reasoned judgment” of a bare majority of this Court—we move one step closer to being reminded of our impotence.
But at the slightest criticism by the President of the United States, this guy feels "disheartened".

This is very bad. Reverend Wright comes to mind Just the other day an episcopal Minister said abortion was ok. Too late we are stuck with him. Today they were kicking around a carbon tax. I’m losing faith here.

I suggest you start from the premise that he is NOT a strict constructionist. He shouldn’t get in just because he was picked by Trump and we like Trump. He may be a hardcore activist. I need proof and not just proof by those people who promised they would repeal and replace Obamacare as soon as they had power...
