'Enough is enough': Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno critical of new 'influx' of refugees to city

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, after learning that several refugee families are expected to arrive in the Springfield area this week, has renewed criticism of local resettlement agencies, saying "enough is enough."

In a prepared release, Sarno raised a series of questions about the arrival, saying he had received no advance communication from the Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts, the resettlement agency. "Once again, these resettlement agencies with no prior contact and/or coordination efforts with our city departments, use our Springfield as their 'designated resettlement site,'" Sarno said. "Yet when these resettlement agencies are asked to assist these families in need in their own cities and/or towns -- they state they do not have the capacity. Maybe they should try to create their own capacity."

"In a prepared release, Sarno raised a series of questions about the arrival, saying he had received no advance communication from the Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts, the resettlement agency."

Here is the CEO of Jewish Family Service of Western Mass.- Maxine Stein

If you go to their web page, they link to a story about how they heroically brought over a family of 11 Ethopians (who were getting ready to have triplets, so that's 14)to live in the US.

And now, here is her anti-Trump statement:

Greetings!

Becoming a refugee is never a choice. Being a welcoming community and a welcoming country is a choice. Unfortunately, due to the recent actions taken by President Trump, we have temporarily deprived refugees from war-torn countries the opportunity to escape terror and rebuild their lives. The suspension of the refugee resettlement program that brings hope to the desperate and vulnerable victims of persecution is cruel, un- American, un-Jewish and un- welcoming.

As you undoubtedly know, the signing of the executive order affecting refugee resettlement last Friday, on International Holocaust Day, has had a devastating impact on the refugee resettlement community of agencies, partners and friends. It was particularly shameful that the order was signed on a day when the world should pause to reflect on the horrors of the Holocaust and on the failure of our international community to protect Jews and other victims from the Nazi regime.

Jewish Family Service is proud of its vibrant and vital program for New Americans. We have been resettling refugees for over 40 years and we know what we are doing. Despite the recent executive order, Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts stands firm in our commitment, as a Jewish organization and as Americans, to welcome the stranger and protect refugees, as we have done for decades.

We may have a moratorium on refugee resettlement but we have a moral and ethical commitment to refugees, including our most recent arrivals that came days before the order was signed. We will continue to work with and for our New Americans to meet their needs and meet our responsibility. We await the lifting of the ban and we will be ready to continue resettlement as soon as we are granted permission. As HIAS, the global Jewish nonprofit that protects refugees reminded us, our tradition in this country of welcoming refugees as New Americans is one of the things that has made America great. It is a tradition worth fighting for.

Thank you for your support, your calls, your emails and your financial donations. Funds donated during this period will be targeted to fortifying our resettlement program and keeping it alive until we make our next “airport run” when this ban is lifted to greet our new refugees. Together we will speak up and act to reopen our country’s doors.

In the spirit of community,

Maxine J Stein, MSW

President and CEO

Find out where she lives. Put them on a bus to her town.

Uber them to her front door.

Poverty profiteers, I call them open border Quisling traitors, settling tomorrow’s moslem terrorists in our neighborhoods to line their pockets today. Disgusting.

Psst .... Mr Mayor .... It's your city, not the Jewish Family Service's.

The correct language is;

"No is No."

“Once again, these resettlement agencies...”

I hope these agencies are on Trump’s radar. A quick flip of the wrist on the money spigot would shut them down in a heartbeat.

A 501C(3) non-profit likely getting beaucoup dollars from the government to ‘resettle’ muslim refugees. Tax Free profit. They feed and house them for a couple nights and then bus their ass out to another town somewhere and then dump them in the middle of the night (after having told them how to apply for local, state and federal entitlements.

Divide and conquer; it isn’t even concealed anymore. In the case of this revolutionary, remember her the next time Muzzies shoot up the El AL counter at LAX or a van of Jewish students on the Brooklyn Bridge.

I hope Ms. Stein witnesses first-hand the
savageness of these vulgar, barbaric animals.

Maybe one will breed with Tsarnaev’s wife.
Rumor has it she’s been in heat for quite a few years.

Why hasn’t Trump shut off the federal money to these “refugee” resettlement groups?

“Find out where she lives. Put them on a bus to her town.”

Probably in LOngmeadow, right next to Springfield, a rich, safe beautiful community where they don’t allow refugees.

Springfield needs to send this agency for a bill for the cost of the lifetime care of these refugees and then take them to court if they refuse to pay it.

They should also sue this woman and the each member of the Board of Directors personally for this cost. (Alinsky rule—”identify the target and make it personal”)

Time to play the left’s game against the left.

It may be because they have IDIQ contracts for a term of 5 years or so. That’s what I would have done were I Usama.

It will take time to shut down the contracts and pull the money. The key is temporarily stopping the number of ‘fugees’ in the pipeline to keep the contractors from delaying with endless shutdown costs.

Goodwill is for profit store now,so anything you donate to them they reap the profits. They charge outlandish prices for inferior donations,so they don’t care.

These “refugee” resettlement grifters are in it for the taxpayer money they are given by the government. They can bring these unknowns in, but they refuse to contribute anything to their resettlement. Congress ought to rescind this funding ASAP. If religious organizations want to bring in refugees, then they should pay for it from church funds, not expect the overburdened US taxpayer to foot the bill so that “refugees” are treated better than our own citizens…and they are.
