If Morning Joe had a hook, they would have yanked presidential advisor Stephen Miller off the set of the Sunday shows he appeared on yesterday. Today's Morning Joe devoted a long segment to eviscerating his performance.
The essence of the criticism was two-fold. First, that Miller spoke too much about his personal views rather than those of the president he serves. Second, that in declaring that the powers of the president to protect the country "will not be questioned" he was expressing an undemocratic view running counter to the principle of judicial review.

I’m confident that the great majority of FReepers will trash the Morning Joe crew for their comments. And there’s no doubt that the MSM tries to pull the Trump admin down at every turn.
But I don’t think Miller put in good performances yesterday. They were strident, referred way to much to himself, and bottom line don’t think they served well to advance the president’s cause, other than with his own base.
Morning Joe is just that, Morning...he has no credibility anymore, and the only reason he had Trump on his shows in the campaign was to raise the ratings of his show, until President Trump realized that Morning was a POS...
Wonder still how he got out of that ‘intern that was found dead in his office’...backing from the libs of course, what am I thinking...lol...
I thought Stephen Miller did just fine. President Trump said so as well.
I see Mika is in her Bill Clinton worship pose.
Some of Miller’s appearance was out of the successful Leftist playbook, however.
1. You need someone way past Trump to make Trump’s position the “compromise” position.
2. Unattractive strident geeky spokesman makes Trump look warmer when he does speak for himself.
3. Miller’s position is rationally supported by policies and facts.
4. Nothing wrong with playing to the base. The Commie/Muslim/Left will never change. The Base needs to stay on board.
I will grant you, however, that Miller has a certain resemblance to Vlad Putin from certain camera angles.
Just my opinion. Your concerns are not unfounded, though.

You must have watched a different Stephen Miller than I did. Thought he did quite well.
The test of how well Miller did is not really how FReepers think he did. He gave us lots of red meat, for sure.
I’m not saying we should be guided by the MSM’s reaction, which will always look for the negatives.
But trying to put ourselves in the shoes of the kind of swing voters who won MI, WI, OH and PA for Trump, I don’t think Miller’s performance yesterday served the president well.

As for Miller’s statements you refer to as strident,I say “it’s about damn time” for somebody in government to grow a pair of balls. He was right - Trump is right, and there is no amount of liberal pearl-clutching or getting the vapours that will change that.
Miller’s performance is exactly what the swing voters in MI, WI, OH and PA are looking for(which is why Trump won). Sharp, to the point and factual based. What else can you ask for.
Fair enough. Maybe it’s just a matter of personal style and taste, but if I had a business or organization, I wouldn’t want someone with Miller’s style representing it.

We HAVE to keep up with the times and the MO Trump has forged. The old way of appeasement, lurking in the shadows and peeing our pants afraid of a MSM keyboard or Sunday TV geeks are over.
We CANNOT respond to liberal talking points and Alinsky tactics; we MUST proactively engineer our own narrative and put these liberal simps on the defensive. We have to have them scrambling just to respond rather than instigate.

Miller is just getting started as a face for the Administration. In time, he will, like a hammer drill penetrate the thick skulls of progressives while capturing their gullible followers.
