The run-up to the election Louise Mensch and others broke the story that the Obama Justice Department and federal law enforcement authorities had obtained a Trump-related FISA warrant in October following the denial of an earlier FISA warrant request the previous June. On its way out the door the Obama administration trashed the “minimization” procedures protecting the privacy of American citizens caught in the FISA net. Andrew McCarthy raised a red flag in the troubling NRO column “FISA and the Trump team.” Earlier this week the New York Times reported the involvement of Obama administration officials in disseminating the information obtained along the way.

That’s not gonna happen but I would love to see it.
I would assume Trump has the military by now.
The Democrats have played hardball.
They went after Flynn and they got him.
They went after Sessions and they got him at least temporarily.
This is the hill to die on. What could be more stark? President Trump should pull out all the stops and make sure that powerful people end up in federal prison. If this abuse of power is allowed to stand, then the Democrats will never stop their coup.
Is it likely Obama never planned to go public with the Russian angle until Trump won and then he had to go public to protect himself from the legitimate accusation that he got the wire tap strictly for political reasons? They need Trump gone today because everything they’ve been hiding is floating to the top?
Also makes me wonder if they wire tapped him once some in Obama’s sewer began to think Trump would win, despite everything?

So the first request for FISA (now that I actually read the whole article) was in June and it was rejected. I thought, but now doubt, that they believed Hillary was winning. If so, maybe this was just extraprecaution.
They re-tooled and came back in October when they probably had doubts about her “sure win”.
The last sentence in the OP is my fav:

On July 15, 2016, a coup d'état was attempted in Turkey against state institutions, including, but not limited to the government and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The attempt was carried out by a faction within the Turkish Armed Forces that organized themselves as the Peace at Home Council. They attempted to seize control of several key places in Ankara, Istanbul, and elsewhere, but failed to do so after forces loyal to the state defeated them.
There is one major difference here. This coup is NOT being organized by the military or any of its factions, but by a former regime trying to delegitimize the duly elected successor.
There is reason to believe that "malefactors of great wealth" are pouring resources into this effort. This is not merely a pitcher trying to "brush back" an aggressive batter. This is beanball with malicious intent.

If you actually got inside one of his rallies during campaign, it is easy to understand why Trump won. I have witnessed nothing even close to this movement.

I agree with you. The Russian bs nothing story is driven as cover for what they knew would happen after they lost. It is the greatest lie since the video at Benghazi. There is no doubt about it . I never could understand why they were risking failure on this baseless allegation. I think we now know =— they had to have this narrative to try to explain their obvious abuse of power in spying on trump. I dont see the NSA hear. I assure you that makes no sense. FBI does criminal investigations “not security issues” according to Comey. I remember everything about Watergate, It was nothing compared to this. This is horrific.
I think you’re mistaken, Nita. The founder of Powerline, the main writer often fills in for the Laura Ingraham radio show during the Christmas holidays. I’m not familiar with reading from the site but he sure doesn’t sound like a Never- Trumper to me.
