Russia has sent a clear message to Israel that the rules of the game have changed in Syria and its freedom to act in Syrian skies is over, Syria’s ambassador to the United Nations said on Sunday night. “Putin sent a clear message,” said Bashar Jaafari, speaking on Syrian television. “The fact is that the Israeli ambassador [to Russia] was summoned for a conversation only a day after he submitted his credentials [to the Russian Foreign Ministry last Thursday], and was told categorically that this game is over.”

This reminds me exactly of when the Soviet Union collapsed - peace broke out all over the world, Latin America, SW Africa, SE Asia - as so-called “liberation movements” lost their real backing.
Funny how with Obama gone and Clinton out of power, ISIS is collapsing, Turkey is leaving the “depose-Assad alliance,” and Syria is stabilizing.

I absolutely called this. I even predicted the timing. Israel has no right whatsoever to attack the anti-isis forces in Syria. They attacked a supply convoy of the Assad government. I predicted that would stir the Russians. Here is a clue to all countries out side the sovereign state of Syria under international law. STAY THE HELL OUT OF THEIR COUNTRY. The Russians are invited there with the Iranians to legally fend off the Islamic State forces from overthrowing the duly constituted and elected sovereign government of Syria. GET OUT!! If this is just a warning, Israel is very lucky.
It actually IS his call. Syria is still a sovereign state. Russia was invited in by the government of Syria as an ally. Russia thus has a legitimate right to shoot down any aircraft attacking any forces of their ally.
Same with the Lebanese Christians. Over there and over here. Absolutely mystifying.
Israel attached a weapons shipment to Hezbollah on its way to Lebanon. Israel has every right to protect itself. Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38 are about to be fulfilled. Don’t get caught on the wrong side of history.
The missile the Syrians sent out against the Israeli warplanes was an obsolete one - the S200.
On the other hand, the Israelis were putting a tremendous amount of pressure on the US to dissuade the Russians from selling a more formidable version - the S300 to Iran (they believed the S300 missiles would be a big challenge for the Israeli Air Force, in case Israeli decided it was necessary to attack Iran.)
This would be a good test to see if the Israeli Air Force can overcome the S300 and S400 (an even later version) that the Russians have installed in Syria.

Exactly, just as our country would have every right to to protect ourselves from a nation arming itself for war against us- IF we saw any nation sending Isis weapons, we would do the same- I guess some folks don’t believe a sovereign nation like Israel has a right to protect themselves the same way that we would do
