For three kids I think we spend about $6K a year including books. We could seriously reduce that amount because it’s a customizable program. Some families only pay for math, English, and science classes. Some only pay for math because their parents need help teaching it. Others only send theirs to science classes because it gives the student access to labs. We have always had our kids take everything plus we have taken advantage of optional classes such as Latin, Bible Greek, Spanish, personal finance, art, etc. My two high schoolers have nine separate subjects.
Also, the program really works with those families who have a financial need. Few kids couldn’t do it because of money. I don’t know how many, but a number of them go for free.
I wish I’d had a program like this, too.
If you aren’t mentally stuck in an institutional school model, providing an education to your children has NEVER been easier or less expensive.
I left Catholicism over 50 years ago. Life is not guilt.
My wife is homeschooling our 4. 11th, 9th, 7th, and a 5th grader. Going a lot better than if in government schools.
You are right. Many private schools are nominally Christian. Today institutional schools k-12 are entirely unnecessary. Today the educational resources exist to provide a far better education at a trivial cost. If a parent actually cares about his children, he’ll figure it out. The problem is that most “conservative” parents love government welfare education and don’t want to be responsible for how their children are educated. As for Christian schools, ACCS schools are excellent. In general, though, you need to be very careful about Christian schools because they are often nothing other than government school “lite”.
I don’t mind guilt so much as their penchant to force leftism on their parishioners and to stick their nose in temporal affairs.
Throw in an anti-American worldview and a penchant for young boys and it’s over for me.
Why pay for that? There are online courses that are far less expensive. Overall, there is an unbelievable amount of low cost and free educational material out there for high school aged children.
The solution is to recognize that learning is part of being human. No state, and people will still learn things.

Unfort., it’ll be almost impossible to turn the tide, most\a lot of States have ‘free’ public education baked into their Constitutions.
Schooling is our nation’s **most** serious threat. I seriously mean this. Americans will not lose their freedom through a military attack. No. No. Instead, freedom will be lost in the voting booth and it is Marxists who are training up the next generation of voters.

Absolutely true, and the sad thing is that most parents either do not know it, and/or do not give a damn! In my opinion this insidious attack upon our nation’s founding principles will, in a few decades, destroy our country. President Trump’s education secretary needs to launch a full-scale program to bring this threat to the attention of the nation before it’s too late.
One of the problems is there aren’t that many “parents” who will profess they’re Christians.
Another is they simply can’t afford to pay for babysitters. Which is what they use the school system for.
No doubt about it that “christian”, with a small “c”, churches are becoming more and more liberal.
I’d advise anyone to look up on youtube Kent Hovind, teaches Christian creationism and science teacher who exposes phony Darwin’s evolution for the foundation of totalitarianism and brainwashing in schools. He has tons of videos and learning material. Hovind was imprisoned on ridiculous charges by scumbag atheists and pedophiles in law enforcement and gov’t in Florida and fortunately back now on a mission. While in prison he wrote many childrens’ short stories, books, and a saved 900 men. He needs full pardon and reprieve from President Trump.

There are plenty of nonfunctioning adults around here who are 51 or older.
Why is high school a problem?
My homeschoolers went to college at the ages of 13, 12, and 13 and did fine. Yes, our home had no chemistry or biology labs but this was **easily** resolved at the community college. They took science courses for arts majors and then went on to take science courses for science majors. No problem.
