In February 2012, then-President Barack Obama promised hed buy a Chevrolet Volt in five years when hes out of office and that time is now.
Inquiries to Obamas representatives so far have gone unanswered whether arrangements to acquire the now-second generation extended-range EV are being made.
And, the statement he made to 1,600 United Auto Workers in Detroit seemed sincere enough.
Five years from now when Im not president anymore, Ill buy one and drive it myself, said Obama after saying the secret service allowed him to sit in it, but not take it anywhere for obvious reasons. Yes, thats right, he reiterated to the applause of the union workers.

He’s in exile in Tahiti. I don’t know if they sell Volts there.
He’s getting it on the Volts for Dolts plan.
Hope he doesn’t drive it into a volcano or something.
Does he even know how to drive?
“Does he even know how to drive?”
and into the ditch
Nope, a a 1965 Ford Pinto.
Obama buy a car ? Never. He doesn’t
Pay for chit.
Ole buddy Musk will give him a Tesla.
BS. He’s had at least 8 years of nothing but large SUVs or The Beast limo.
He’s about as likely to drive himself as Hillary Clinton who’s now been chauffeured for over 2 decades I think.
Obviously not since he had a bunch of parking tickets in Cambridge when he was at Harvard. He never paid them until just before he announced he was running for President:
"Obama received 17 parking tickets in Cambridge between 1988 and 1991, mostly for parking in a bus stop, parking without a resident permit and failing to pay the meter, records from the Cambridge Traffic, Parking and Transportation office show."
Looks like the Cambridge Police acted stupidly back then too, because they didn't toss his ugly a$$ in the hoosegow.
A 65 Pinto? Really?
Does a Volt have an electric seat?
Is that a euphemism for electric chair? Way past time.
(to borrow a quote)
I’m thinking he’ll let his boyfriend drive.
“A 65 Pinto? Really?”
