Bingo!!!

Now it makes sense.

This is why we armed the Mujahadeen in the 80’s. To prevent a pipeline from Tehran to Russia.

No, that was Brezinski following the MacKinder doctrine.

He can control Europe. Recall a few years back when he threatened to shut off gas “Feb 27, 2015 - Russia has threatened to turn off the gas supply to Ukraine “by the end of the week”, sparking fears of a potential fuel shortage across the whole of Europe.” Europe depended on Russia at that time for nearly 50% of its supply. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/putins-gas-threat-what-happens-if-russia-cuts-the-gas-to-europe-10074294.html

Now how powerful would Putin be if he controlled more like 90-95% of the supply? Not just ‘rich,’ but that is real power because the EU would be at his mercy. Want to sanction Russia...hmmm...look at that a fuel crisis in Europe in the dead of winter. We would never be able to negotiate anything with Europe ever again.

Now what would it mean in the Middle East? SA goes down on the totem pole and Iran rises as a force to be reckoned with. Cash starved Iran then has the money to do whatever they want weapon wise because they can shut off the gas supply to Europe...just like Putin or with Putin’s protection to do it.

Now do you see what kind of mess this really is? Our allies literally fall apart in two regions of the world and we witness the real fall of western civilization on the European continent.

It has been a while since anyone has re-evaluated what is at stake. The war is going on so long people forget why it was ever started or who started it. Everyone thinks the issue is ISIS or rebels or whatever, few people still realize this is not about rogue rebels, but about sovereign nations fighting over resources.

I posted this for historical perspective as to why so many are questioning Trump’s actions. As I said in my very first post...Trump is a business man. That pipeline means business in Europe, the Middle East, and control over the bad hombres as he would say.

Another good read for the ‘why’ we should be concerned about Syria. Thanks for posting the link!

It’s much more complicated than this. The Israeli and Russian Jewish oligarchs have been pushing for a natural gas line out of Israel’s Leviathon gas field in the Mediterranean Sea since 2011.

The NG was targeted to go thru Cyprus and feed Europe. BTW, Cyprus is sitting on a motherlode of NG in the Mediterranean Sea.

It’s all about $$$$ and who gets to feed Europe’s thirst for energy.

Ok, so you are saying that Saudi Arabia is the true friend of U.S. and Europe, they just want to sell their gas to Europe out of benevolence and not for money and power like Putin?

Not t benevolence, perceived stability. SA has been ne’er tremendous economic pressures and they need the $$$$ to maintain power and stability. If they cannot acquire it, the whole region realigns.

Thanks. I guess my point is that both Russia and Saudi Arabia want money and power, and neither is a good option to be beholden to, but SA is also Islamic extremists. In any event, it doesn’t appear that Europe cares whether they are invaded and converted to islam, and they don’t seem to care about funding NATO to keep Putin at bay, so why do we have to spend our money and blood on Syria?
