Gunman 'randomly' opens fire on Laclede Gas workers in St. Louis

A gunman "randomly" opened fire Thursday morning on Laclede Gas employees working in the city's Hamilton Heights neighborhood, killing two before shooting and killing himself, police and a witness said.

The shooting was reported about 11:16 a.m. in the 5900 block of Minerva Avenue, on the western edge of the city.

Police said two Laclede Gas workers, one in his 20s and the other in his 50s, were fatally injured when the gunman "randomly" fired at them, according to St. Louis Police Capt. Mary Warnecke. The gunman then killed himself, though that appears to have been at a different location.

In such a case, there most likely would have been one of the six or seven hundred thousand veterans somewhere nearby.

Some of us in the Navy knew/know how to use a weapon properly. :)

I will admit that many sailors should never be near a loaded weapon. For that reason, I was very glad that our main protectors were US Marines.

Not really unless you have shot 100’s in Skeet and Trap and a lot of four legged critters and those with wings.

My short experience in the Navy with good guys was most of them could not hit their ship with a 45 bullet firing from 20’ away. It was pretty bad when the Divers on your ship wanted a Spook to help stand shark watch over them with a M1 when they were diving.

I’m sure that you are and were a good shot. Most of the sailors I served with were not.
