Thank you Lacrew, I am sometimes too subtle with my satire. I did not think I needed “/s” for this one.

I think that’s the entire business plan for solar companies.

“The company also received a $5.7 million federal tax credit in 2010 as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.”

Are any of the so called ‘alternative energy’ companies that received tax payer money through the ARRA still in business? Seems like the majority of them were just scams. I’m surprised this one was still around.

“Solar is a gov’t racket and I can’t tell you how many companies are going cheap Chinese Solar lately. If you’re going to invest in Solar, at least do it right and know that the payback is at least 8 years out on quality panels that will last 20+ years.”

These vast solar ‘farms’ are going to be the gift that keeps on taking. Now that the electrical grid has come to rely upon the electricity produced from these ‘farms’, once the panel has reached its useful life expectancy and needs replacing, the taxpayer and/or the consumer is going to foot the bill all over again for replacements. I highly doubt that any potential ‘savings’ being generated from ‘free electricity’ is being set aside for replacement panels 20 or so years down the road.

...we wish to trash the solar technology industry because it is in line with the green pinko weenies?

Eventually solar technology will advance to economic viability. At that time we will embrace it.

I’m in favor of increasing the use of solar energy, but in cases like this, the math was bad.
