Hershey’s just announced a major change to their chocolate, and it’s probably [NOT] a good plan

"Hershey is, in essence, increasing its prices by giving you less chocolate for the same price."

Maybe they got the idea from Toblerone:

Ridiculous. There is already calorie info on every product manufactured by big brands in the U.S.

As long as our Hershey bars still taste like our childhood dreams, we’re cool. But they don’t.

One of the great things about springtime in our area is that grocery stores carry Coca-Cola from Mexico for the kosher-observing families at Passover. Mexican coke is made with real sugar, not corn syrup, and tastes like the Cokes of our childhoods in the 50s.

Some of the small hispanic food markets carry Coke from Mexico all year round.

If you are eating chocolate, you aren't being healthy, period.
You might like to do a search on "chocolate brain blood flow". You'll find that 2 servings of coco per day increase blood flow to the brain by up to 20%.

From a study done at Tufts University, "But the small group of volunteers with impaired NVC saw dramatic changes after just a month of cocoa intake. Neurovascular coupling improved by more than double, and scores on standard cognitive tests jumped 30%."

Remember that time (1985) when Coca Cola decided that its customers wanted a change? Hershey’s Classic anyone?

The only candy I eat is dark chocolate on which I am hooked and addicted!

However, no Hershey junk for me...I get it at a local shoppe here that hand-makes high-quality candy in the back of the store.

My favorite application of dark chocolate is Dark Chocolate Bark (with almonds) that owner Michelle personally produces.

It's expensive as all get-out...but well worth the cost. My family looks for me to ship some of these "barks" to them every Christmas, which I do...and it almost sends me to the poor house!

But Christmas connotes "all things bright and beautiful" and my dark chocolate bark gifts are that.....plus being scrumptous, too. So I'm happy to pack 'n ship this manna from heaven at Christmas, and sometimes for birthdays, also.

Bon Appetit to dark chocolate lovers everywhere!

Leni

Thank you, it looks decidedly decadent and delicious.
My Mother’s 100th birthday is in a few months and she loves chocolate; I’ll be placing an order.

So they will make the chocolate bar more costly and thinner and less tasty.
That should improve sales!!

I think that “New Coke” was the way they disguised the switch from real cane sugar to HFCS.

The product was similar enough they called it Coke, but it was just a ruse to aid in forgetting how original Coke tasted. Then they “brought back by popular demand” Coca-Cola Classic (note, not just Coca-Cola, even though New Coke was a different brand).

Coca-Cola Classic is the original recipe with HFCS substituted for real cane sugar.

If you want to taste what Coke is supposed to taste like, buy a bottle of Mexican Coke. Really, it tastes just like it did when we were kids.

Hershey is OK, as long as it is relatively cheap I buy it occasionally. Won’t if the cost approaches Lindt, which is WAY better chocolate.

Hmm.... looks too good. :-) I do not need to gain weight but I only like dark chocolate and in small quantity so it’s actually good for me, right? Right?

Way back before babies came, I was in the import/export business as a Customs Broker. Callebaut was one of our clients and they used to give THE best Christmas presents to us. Delicious!

Regards,
