Because for years, people have said, “I don’t care if he’s a liberal, we need the R, dammit!” And it is true that you need numbers to have a majority, but we’re now seeing what a soft majority it really is.
Mr. Trump should tell us why U.S. taxpayers should be on the hook for the $10 to $20 billion or so. No hints as to how Mexico will pay for it? Estimated yearly maintenance is $700 million or so. If no alternate funding sources are identified, just do strict enforcement of E-Verify, beef up the Border Patrol and ICE, cut off welfare for illegals and continue to deport. And save billions of dollars!
Close government for 10 days—> use savings to pay for wall. Problem solved.
Spending battles in the Obama years? WHAT battles? No one stopped him from spending as much as he wanted!
I hope not. Damn Paul Ryan and Rodney Frelinghuysen.
Eisenhower used military budget to fund highway system. Hint hint!! BUILD THE DAMN WALL!!!!
“Help me understand why the Democrats have any say in this whatsoever. Doesnt the GOP have all three branches of government? How can the Democrats shut anything down?”
Because a large portion of the GOP is made up of Democrats in GOP clothing.
I would hope that getting rid of these swamp rats is one of President Trump’s top priorities.
Uhhhh... in my book, in a sentence with congress, overspending is one word.
The Senate needs 60 votes for budget matters. Republicans only have a 52 majority.
Thanks!
If we know how many are crossing, why can’t they all be stopped or caught?
PRyno, budget man, is a total fraud.
The Art Of The Deal played on the American people, promise all the hot button issues in the extreme, then bargain backwards,no Obama care repeal,no tax cuts,no wall.
The establishment,Ivanka and Kushner running the show
“So what does everyone think, is Trump going to cave on the wall?”
Too early to tell, but I wouldn’t chalk this up as a good start.
He won’t cave - he will build his leverage until the RINOs have no choice.
It turns out that Mexico didn’t want to pay for it. That gives him a loophole.
If he backs off building the wall, he is backing away from his NUMBER ONE campaign promise. I would be surprised AND VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Read my lips—No New Taxes
The Wall doesn’t get built
Guess what
“President Trump has his maximum momentum in the first six months of his Presidency, in terms of public support, political capital, and political will. After that, too many things crop up as distractions and/or excuses not to deliver.”
Exactly. Strike while you can or the wall proposal will die of a 1,000 cuts.
