A mortuary in Mississippi is being sued by the husband of a gay man for allegedly refusing to cremate him because of his sexuality. John "Jack" Zawadski, 82, and his nephew filed the lawsuit after being told that the funeral parlour did not "deal with their kind". Their legal team argue the response of staff at the Picayune mortuary devastated Mr Zawadski and his family. But the co-owner of the funeral home has tearfully denied the allegations. "We just didn't do that," a weeping Henrietta Brewer told Mississippi Today.
Mrs Brewer said that her mortuary had handled the funerals of "well over a dozen" gay people since she and her husband opened it in 2006. She said one gay man had even been buried in the funeral home's privately-owned cemetery. "We're the ones that treat everyone good," Mrs Brewer said, arguing that none of her staff was homophobic.
Mr Zawadski and his nephew, John Gaspari, are seeking unspecified cash compensation from the Brewer Funeral Home for "breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation and the intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress", Lambda Legal said in a press statement. The lawsuit says that Mr Gaspari had completed all the arrangements for the funeral of his uncle, Robert Huskey, who died in a hospice shortly after celebrating his 86th birthday. They argue that the funeral parlour suddenly declined the use of their facilities - including the storage and transport of Mr Huskey's body - after they found out he was married to a man.
Mr Zawadski said that the alleged action of the funeral home left him feeling as "if the air had been knocked" out of him.

This pisses me off.
The gay-stapo has decided to pick a target and crush innocent people.
In a press release Tuesday, Lambda Legal, a gay, lesbian, transgender and queer legal rights organization, announced the lawsuit, originally filed in March. In the suit, a gay mans widower and nephew are suing a south Mississippi funeral home, claiming they refused to perform his cremation after discovering he was gay a claim that funeral home officials strongly deny.
We just didnt do that, Brewer Funeral Home co-owner and manager Henrietta Brewer said through tears during an interview with Mississippi Today. We just keep saying, Why us? Were the ones that treat everyone good. We dont even think that, so wed never say it. And our employees dont think that either.
Guess what...they did!
Fast forward to Mississippi 2017 in a case where a pervert was offended and is now seeking big $$$.How will a Mississippi jury vote? I think I know.
Remember the “gay” man who wrote an anti gay slogan on the icing on a cake he bought and blamed Walmart for it?
Yep. Keep in mind that a court just found for a Catholic Church in the Chicago area which was being sued for firing a homosexual music minister for "marrying" his same-sex partner. The Gaystapo is absolutely furious. This is their return-slap temper tantrum, and it will be extended to everyone who dares to oppose them.
So find another funeral home...if this is even happened. I doubt it did.
I got nuthin against gay peeps. But I will tell you...ain’t no such thing as a married homo. Civil union sure.
Unless its a sin to bury a gay guy I dont know what the problem is. Just because you bury him doesnt mean you supported his behavior.
The Queers is a bio hazard
queer blood causes AIDS
Bake the F###ing cake, bury the F###ing F#G, make your children have F###ing sex with the F###ing pervert, OR ELSE!!!!
Is it me or are we all starching to feel like Lott at the door of his house just wondering what “new immoral progressive fun” is heading our way next????
What is coming next, “Let my dog finish humping your leg or else we are going to jail your sorry ass for being species/sexual phobic or some such sh!t....”
Husband of the gay man.... I”ll never get used to hearing that.
“Yep. Keep in mind that a court just found for a Catholic Church in the Chicago area which was being sued for firing a homosexual music minister for “marrying” his same-sex partner. “
I remember hearing about that. Aren’t Churches immune from being sued in situations like that because of the separation of church and state? At least judging from what I read in this article.
And I bet the body has already been disposed of, so it is just a “gay guy said vs. funeral home said”.
The only real option for this funeral home is to level a big countersuit against the litigants for frivolous barratry, filing a suit accusing them of extortion. And definitely include the homosexual organization as one of the parties.
The problem isn’t gay. Reading the article, it’s not even clear that anyone was ever turned away. Seems made up like most of these things are.
my guess is that the funeral home has buried lots of people that are openly gay. all they have to do is go over there records and show that this is nothing but a shake down and then counter sue the person and the organization sponsoring this persecution.
Fag paydays. Make faggot demands on business until you find one that has integrity. Then sue.
“his ‘husband’ “ makes no natural sense at all
it’s the cultural confiscation that upends the origin and meaning of a word - husband
From the old Norse to old English it means either “master of the house” or “male head of household”. The terms “master” or “male head” of household are derived from the common history of families in societies for at least 2,000 years or more.
It does not mean merely “a male spouse in a married couple” when attempting to apply it to what would be two “husbands”.
Even a “gay” can recognize, if male, they are neither a “husband” to another “husband” nor to a “male wife”, nor are they a “wife” to a male “husband”. Partners in a couple, yes, but husbands or wives no. And what is wrong with “partner”? Nothing. Ah, but what “partner” does not do is attempt to confiscate the social attributes given to opposite sex marriage for ages. That’s what it is really about, deconstructing the legitimacy of marriage as it has always been known.
but, they can refuse to market Trump products
What’s wrong with “partner”?
George and Ira Gershwin were partners. Kern and Hammerstein. Lerner and Loewe. Sears and Roebuck. Jackson, Clayton, and Durante.
What’s wrong is that a useful word has been rendered useless.
