The House voted to defund PP for only one year, but only if this bill passes the Senate, as you said. I’m afraid we’re a long way from anything happening.
PP funding is possibly a bargaining chip to the Senate. The Senate may jerk that PP defunding part of the House bill, and in Conference use it to get something else from the House. Like, maybe funding for the WALL. Then what will happen?
What is the point of funding PP in the CR, then separately passing a bill to defund? This is all just smoke and mirrors - the Dems can fully vote against this, while almost fully supporting the CR (and people here claim that it’s a ‘good’ bill, despite the Dem support).
This makes funding for PP already there, and places more work to then defund it, if it can even get through the Senate.
