Good point, the Clinton’s would double down and throw in a night in the Lincoln Bedroom along with a Green Card.

No, you didn’t vote for her. And I hate to break it to you, but she doesn’t not hold a public office where she can implement policy.

We did vote for her dad, and he can. And so far, he has implemented polices we have advocated for decades. They are not compliant with her world view either.

This is EXACTLY what the Clintons did: pay for play, selling influence.

Right. AND the Clinton's did it for years, make millions and NOT ONE MSM reporter gave a damn. Congress didn't give a damn either. Clapper and the 'intelligence services' didn't give a damn. BECAUSE the Clintons are democrats.

But for us the standard must be perfection? NO MISTAKES ALLOWED? And for democrats, NOTHING?They can do whatever the hell they want to do? Gimme a break.

Yeah, she should not have mentioned her brother. It was a mistake. NOT a decades long occupation by political crooks in 'the democrat style'.... forgive her and move on.

Ivanka needs to be gone from WH. I didn’t vote for her or her husband.

We didn't vote for Nancy or Barbara either, and both were bad news. Laura was quieter, but she is no conservative either, and certainly worked her influence at times. Every family has one or two. Reagan was surrounded by them (all except Michael). Melania is setting a great example. She is her own woman, and is happy to let her husband be his own man.

They got caught being too blatant in their influence pedaling—and had to backtrack.

Look at Trump’s campaign person, and her comment that folks shouldn’t boycott Ivanka’s clothing line. (Kellyanne)

She blurted it out without thinking. It was wrong, but understandable. She still shouldn’t do it going forward.

I don’t agree with it, but some of this is just natural to do.

If a family member of mine was in the White House, I’d number one be proud of it, and number two be compelled to mention it.

Should they do that? No.

Let’s face it though, who wouldn’t know of the connection? Not coming out and saying it won’t make a real difference.

About the only way to avoid an influence like this would be for any family members to be bared from conducting business for four or eight years.

I think you are purposely being obtuse and naive here.

Ivanka and Jared shouldn’t be in the admin at all, whether because they are liberal Democrat types, because nepotism is bad, or because they have so many potential conflicts of interest that the Dems will call Trump on if they get the House in 2018.

They didn’t just blurt out about Kushner, it was written into their pitch.

I don’t think we need to read the worst possible intent when we read things. Sadly, that’s what I see folks doing when it comes to the Kushners.

Ivanka and Jared have as much right as anyone else to serve under her father. What’s this, we now buy into the idea that some folks should be barred from working for the president? His adult successful children and their spouses should be denied service there?

Since when? I read an article on the forum the other day about other presidents that had family members serving in the White House. There were seven or so of them, and if I remember accurately, some of them were the adult children of those presidents.

The Democrats haven’t called Trump on these two nearly as much as folks on this forum have. Folks have gone full on postal over those two serving under Trump.

Who needs the Democrats when we have FReepers to do their dirty work for them.

I keep asking what single piece of legislation Ivanka has coerced her dad to support. I get no answers on that subject. And yet the dislike for them here seems as if based on literally hundreds of things she and Jared have forced the president to do.

NOTHING!

Of course it was written into their pitch. And that was wrong. It was also a family member, and that family member happens to be a family member of the president as well.

This is nonsensical.

No, no, no they don’t!

Nepotism, to start with, is bad.

But they are total liberals—Jared, a lifelong Democrat!

They were lucky-spawn children of billionaire parents, and Jared has even pushed his family’s RE empire to the brink with one spectacularly bad building purchase.

It is fraud for Trump to run as a conservative Republican and then bring liberal Democrats into his admin to run things. Jared, for example, was supposed to be influential in getting Trump to name Priebus as chief of staff. Huge mistake. They are the ones who brought in Cohn and Powell and all the liberal Goldman Sachs folks. Ivanka has been meeting with Congress to try to put a horrendous new entitlement for parents making up to $300K a year into legislation. She also has a weekly meeting with Mnuchin. She is reportedly the one who pushed hardest to get Bannon out.

I love Trump, but he needs to save his Presidency by sending Ivanka and Jared back to NY.

We did not vote for them and they are a way to destroy Trump.

Go away Ivanka, do the right thing. Raise your kids and have a nice life.

We are 110 days (roughly) into the Trump administration, and I defy you to find anything he has done that you disagree with regarding his E.O.s and legislation signed.

None the less, you attempt to launch a rational explanation for how he has failed us.

He never claimed to be a Conservative, and you can find daily people who state he was a Leftist and still is, right here on this forum.

If he’s a Leftist, I must be registered in the wrong party.

Folks, you need to look at what he has accomplished, and quit screwing yourselves into the dirt projecting what he will fail you with next.

He has sections of the wall being built right now. He has made every move he possibly can to defund Planned Parenthood.

He has offered up a great tax cut plan.

He has stopped all government funding for global warming abatement programs.

He has signed many E.O.s doing other things we have wanted to see done or undone.

None the less, Ivanka and Jared.

Honestly, I think our nation has much more to fear from the anti-Ivanak/Jared folks, than they do from Trump or either of the two of them.

Some folks just can’t be happy. If the fixation over these two doesn’t prove that, despite what Trump has done for us so far, nothing ever will.

He didn’t use the word conservative, but he sure ran as one.

And how about what he hasn’t done that he promised, such as reversing DACA? Jivanka are supposed to be soft on illegal immigrants, and there are rumors of Trump telling Congress he’s open to their reviving the amnesty bill (”comprehensive immigration reform”) that he ran against in the GOP primaries.

Ivanka is supposedly the one who convinced him to pretend that Assad had gassed his people—and to bomb the country in response, because of the supposed pictures of “the children”.

But he tried to push Obamacare 2.0 on us as “repeal”. Hasn’t really got around to much other legislation. The proposed tax deal is promising, but then again, that would deliver big cuts to Jivanka’s businesses.

Trump is a persuadable pragmatist, which makes it the more dangerous that he has let Jivanka surround him with liberals and anti-Trump GOPe types.
