Deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is subbing in for Sean Spicer at today’s White House press briefing, in her first on-camera briefing with reporters.
Sanders, the daughter of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and adviser to President Donald Trump during his election campaign in January, landed a job as principal deputy press secretary for the new administration.
Spicer will spend the day at the Pentagon fulfilling his Navy reservist duty. He joined the reserve in 1999, and is now a commander.
Before joining Trump’s campaign, Sanders worked as a political consultant and staffer for her father’s two presidential bids.
During the 2016 election, Huckabee made a name for herself as a vigorous defender of Trump, using creative justifications for the campaign’s more outlandish claims, which earned her the job as deputy press secretary.
She has continued to make appearances on cable TV since the election, providing remarkably ham-handed defenses of the president.
According to CNN, Sanders told reporters off-camera: “Sean is actually on Navy Reserve duty, so you guys are stuck with me — today and tomorrow…so brace yourselves for a fun 24 hours.”

I saw her battling some libtards the other day. She did quite well.
Maybe Sarah is part of the reason why her dad Mike Huckabee has been relatively quiet for the last few months.
Mike has been making several very odd remarks here and there in efforts to be funny. The remarks come across as poorly told, off the mark ‘jokes’. Something is going on with Mike Huckabee.
She’s mike’s daughter. And frankly she’s doing a better job than Sean

Wow! Sarah is very impressive, and may soon become the next female Press Secretary and spokesperson for the White House. Mr. and Mrs. Huckabee done good raising this girl!
I watched her a few minutes. I was impressed.
Whoever she is, she clearly gets double scoops of ice cream just like Trump does.

She’s been doing pretty well imho.
She seems tough, smart, fast on her feet and quite willing to take on the press. Frankly, I think she’s better at it than Spicer and should probably take his job.
I think she is lovely just as she is. That photo of her above is the best I have seen yet.
I guess you are a “skin-deep” kinda guy, and aren’t able to relate to character, intelligence, kindness, and warmth in a woman.

And for those who don’t know, U. S. Navy Reserve Lieutenant Commander Sean Spicer is “hiding out from the press” by serving his annual two weeks of active duty. Actually being in the military is something the main stream media people can’t understand doing.
Similarly, I feel pity for the humorless.
