Sky Views: Trump and supporters standing firm
Sky News ^ | May 19, 2017 | by Greg Milam, US Correspondent

If you believe the headlines, Donald Trump is done for.

Impeachment, obstruction of justice, and abuse of power are the themes of the week.

Split-screens of Mr Trump and Richard Nixon drift across our TVs; Watergate veterans warn gloomily of history repeating itself and investigations continue to swirl.

Don't hold your breath.

Amid all the outrage about what the President says or does or tweets, remember this: there are millions of Americans who AGREE with Mr Trump that this is all a witch hunt.

They are angry. They feel ignored. They would probably take to the streets - as he famously pondered on the campaign trail - if they saw their man being thwarted by the system.

Nothing that made them vote for him in the first place has changed.

"I think it is bogus," said the lady who goes by Miss Rebecca, regarding allegations of collusion with Russia.

Rebecca Hampton runs the Cowboy Church of Jerusalem in rural Georgia. She voted for Mr Trump in November, loved him at the inauguration in January and is just as committed now.

Her community feels the same, she said: that Mr Trump offers strong leadership and that the country needs that now.

What about the media?

"It is like what they said about the crowds at the inauguration," she said.

"I was there. I saw all the people there. The media is like babies."

Of course their support won't matter in the slightest if any evidence of wrongdoing is discovered by the web of investigations currently going on.

Until that happens, Mr Trump is going nowhere, to the delight of millions.

For everybody else? Get used to it.

Not only is it not working it may be having the opposite effect. We elected trump to clean up the mess that the career politicians have made. Now these same career politicians are using fake news and phony allegations to try and hinder the agenda and changes that we voted Trump into office to accomplish. I for one can not stand to listen to them any more and the news just sounds like bla, bla, bla.

My husband and I ride the back roads on our motorcycle. Last fall we were simply astonished at the amount of Trump/Pence signs in peoples yards. That should have been a strong indicator. Very few, if any, Hillary signs. ….but the left didn’t seem to notice and we were told Hillary was going to win in a landslide.

I had little confidence Trump was going to win because of these constant poll claims…..even tho I saw support for Trump like I’ve never seen for any Presidential Candidate before.

So what can we do now, how can we let our voices by heard? How can we show others that we still support Donald Trump in spite of the hatred of the media and the left? ....that we do not believe their lies.

Maybe we ought to put the signs back up.

I saw somewhere that there will be a Trump supporters march in DC in September. Probably there’ll be more on that as time passes.

There could be millions of people and the MSM will say ‘”several hundred” or maybe even “several thousands.” That’s what they did with the 9/12/09 tea party march in DC ... early estimates were that the crowd exceeded 1 million, but you’d never know that from news reports. But they’d KNOW, even if they don’t report it accurately.

I just listened to Representative Issa during his interview coming out of the meeting. He repeatedly referenced the supposed lack of confidence in American elections, and how it needed to be restored. There is no lack of confidence in American elections, only in the propaganda promoted by the MSM and democrats.

He referred to the Russian interference in the election, but never bothered to give just one example. They never do, and you would think that with all the investigation that they could advance at least just one example.

Despite the mountain of evidence of treasonous activity uncovered with regard to Hillary, no special prosecutor was ever demanded by the Republicans. But with Trump and no evidence, that is the going concern. Issa repeatedly referred to Mueller as the special prosecutor.

I’ve been to a number of demonstrations over the years for various political causes, pro gun etc. The problem with demonstrations is that most people can’t go......and then you depend on the same lying media for coverage. At one there was a fake demonstrator who got media attention, so you have that to deal with as well.

I really like that idea. Putting signs up would give us a voice.

Not only put the signs back up but contact people and tell them how you feel. I sent Mitch McConnell a scathing email on how fed up I am, as well as every one I know, with their lack of support for our President among ofher things. I stopped short before telling them I will be headed to DC with a pitch fork if they don’t get in line.

Yes, writing or tweeting congress etc. But how do we let the people know we have not abandoned the President? We hear how his approval rating is so low, the typical media misinformation.

How do we make our voice heard? How do we combat the lies?

How is all this happening, the media said he was unelectable. Oh, so now the media is fabricating stories to fit their narrative. Only problem is that we need to take on the corrupt media and we're not doing a good job

McConnell seems to forget that had Trump not won and directed the electorate in his direction, McConnell would not today be Majority Leader. Maybe he’s not comfortable in that position, as it requires leadership and a backbone?

Maybe we ought to put the signs back up.

Many communities have local ordinances that woul prohibit that. There is a time limit to how long political election signs can remain up before fines kick in.

“Many communities have local ordinances that would prohibit that”

Not that way here. Could you put up a sign that says I support our President....or simply Trump? The election is over, so it wouldn’t be an election sign.

Bumper stickers?

Oh, so now the media is fabricating stories to fit their narrative.

And the leaks of unmasked communications by deep state operatives to reporters are federal crimes. Will the special counselor prosecute these criminals? Spit.
